The guides made this...
The guides made this trip! Tomas and Christina were fun to talk with. The sky was clear and we had a great evening viewing the lights. I would recommend.
Response from the operator: Hi! Thank you so much for the nice feedback :) It was a wonderful night and thank you for joining us! Thomas

Amazing when the weather...
Amazing when the weather is right for the Northern Lights. This experience is weather contingent. The guys did everything they could do to find them and we had success!
Response from the operator: Yes, the weather plays a big part of finding the Northern Lights, and am i am glad we where able to show you the aurora. Thank you for choosing us, we appriciate it!

A not too happy customer
This trip was cancelled as we all arrived!! I understand that trips get cancelled due to weather (too many clouds), however it was cloudy and windy all day and they must have known that it would not change into the evening. If the trip provider sent the cancellation out during the afternoon or even early evening, guests would still have been able to make alternative arrangements for entertainment for the evening! Or, even allowing the cruise to take place without the possibility of seeing the northern lights would have been a more favorable option! I am also told that I have to wait 7 days for my refund.. The trip cancellation was not done automatically by Viator. 😞
Response from the operator: Hi! Thank you for your feedback. On this particular night, we were very unsure about the weather conditions and wanted to wait as long as we could before making a decison. As the weather forecast just got worse closer to departure time, the captain and crew decided to not proceed with the tour, as we know from experience that going out in bad weather would not be a plesant experience for you. So, the decision was taken with the best intentions, so you would not have to spend 3.5 hours out on the sea with no chances of seeing the aurora, but instead use the night to something else.

Amazing light's views
Very good tour. Good to see the lights. With a bathroom, snack, warm inside the boat. Great choice for a tour.

Unforgettable experience on the fjord!
It takes about 20 minutes to get beyond the lights of Tromso to the optimal darkness for lights viewing, and then you wait! We were very lucky to see a beautiful light display, but booked this tour for the second chance guarantee offered just in case the weather made viewing difficult. The boat was at capacity so be prepared to negotiate a crowd on deck for viewing. Recommend!

Tromsø: Evening Aurora Cruise: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tromso.
How much does Tromsø: Evening Aurora Cruise cost?
+
Prices start at $122 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tromso usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Tromsø: Evening Aurora Cruise take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tromso is not rushed.
Is Tromsø: Evening Aurora Cruise worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 43 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tromso, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Tromsø: Evening Aurora Cruise?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Tromsø: Evening Aurora Cruise suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Tromsø: Evening Aurora Cruise?
+
Around 15 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tromso can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tromso and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Tromsø: Evening Aurora Cruise start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tromso within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Tromso?
+
On Outty we rank every Tromso experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Northern Lights Big Bus Chase with Chasing Lights, Northern Lights Minibus Chase from Tromsø with Chasing Lights, Tromsø Northern Lights Chase We Go Where The Lights Appear. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Tromso?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Tromso?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
