About this experience

This 3 hour trekking Chiang Mai adventure to a waterfall is a nice way to see the jungle and cool off in the water. The trek itself is about 1.6 km through the jungle to a 10 metre high waterfall. We then take a break here so you can go for a swim so it’s a good idea to change into your swimming attire at the camp before you start the hike. The guide will point out flora and fauna along the way. We return back along the same track. If you’re a quick hiker and would like to go further past the waterfall we can do that as well. Highly recommended for families! Trekking Chiang Mai is perfect to add onto our Whitewater Rafting or ATV adventures Lunch, snack and water are included.

Trekking and AVT with 8adventures

The trekking journey and the AVT trip were wonderful. I got the chance to see Thailand’s beautiful jungles, unique trees, and fruits. Our guide Mr Zak was very nice, gentle and polite. He shared with us many stories about Thai people their lives, food, work, and how they lived with the jungles. The trip was well organized, pick up and drop off was provided including lunch, on time and very punctual. Highly recommended.

Into the wild

Just finished an amazing jungle trekking trip — what an experience! Huge thanks to our guide for being so kind, patient, and knowledgeable. You didn’t just guide us through the jungle — you helped us slow down, breathe, and really feel the forest. 🌿 There’s something about walking in nature, with nothing but the sound of birds, wind, and your own footsteps… it clears your mind and heals your heart in ways words can’t explain. Grateful for every muddy step, every quiet moment, and especially for your guidance. This trip was more than a hike — it was a little reset for the soul.

Trek to a Jungle Waterfall: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Chiang Mai.

How much does Trek to a Jungle Waterfall cost?

+

Prices start at $1500 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Chiang Mai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Trek to a Jungle Waterfall take?

+

Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Chiang Mai is not rushed.

Is Trek to a Jungle Waterfall worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 15 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Chiang Mai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Trek to a Jungle Waterfall?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Trek to a Jungle Waterfall suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 7. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 9-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Trek to a Jungle Waterfall?

+

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Chiang Mai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Chiang Mai and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Trek to a Jungle Waterfall start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Chiang Mai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Chiang Mai?

+

On Outty we rank every Chiang Mai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half-Day Thai Cooking Class at Organic Farm in Chiang Mai, Full Day Thai Cooking at Farm (Chiang Mai), Thai and Akha Cooking Class in Chiang Mai. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Chiang Mai?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Chiang Mai?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
