Reaching New Heights and Experiences
We booked this tour through a travel company and are so glad we did. We were picked up at our hotel and taken to their farm where they have this giant ficus tree, over a 100 feet tall, that is lighted at night and you climb up inside of it. It is definitely not an excursion to be attempted if you aren’t in good physical shape. I asked Junior how fast he could climb up and back down that tree and he said he did it in a minute and 28 seconds! Amazing! Once at the top you are treated to an awesome view of the entire area. Once we descended the tree we watched a beautiful sunset and took many pictures. Then it was on to our night hike. We saw a toucan, scorpion, birds, and many other nocturnal creatures. Junior was our guide and was phenomenal! He had so much knowledge and easily knew where to look in the trees. Our tour included dinner afterwards at a restaurant nearby. The food was wonderful.
Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience with us. Reading your kind words truly means a lot to our entire team. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the adventure from beginning to end, from climbing our majestic giant Ficus tree and witnessing the breathtaking views at the top, to experiencing the magic of the sunset and the fascinating nocturnal wildlife during the night walk. Junior will be especially happy to know that his passion, knowledge, and dedication helped make your visit memorable. He genuinely loves sharing the beauty of our forest and its incredible wildlife with our guests, and your recognition is the greatest reward for his efforts. We are also pleased that you enjoyed the traditional dinner after the tour. We strive to create experiences that combine adventure, nature, culture, and authentic Costa Rican hospitality, and it is wonderful to know that we achieved that during your visit. Thank you for choosing us and for taking the time to recommend this experience. We hope to welcome you back to Monteverde in the future for more unforgettable adventures and new discoveries. Warm regards, The SinwaTours Family

Fantastic tree climbing fun!
What a blast! Darnel and Junior were fantastic guides. They were very knowledgeable and supportive and encouraging. They were so patient and let me do all three routes up the tree. It was so beautiful to connect with this amazing specimen of a tree and I was thankful to have such great guides. I highly recommend doing this tour.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for sharing your experience, we are delighted for your visit, Pura Vida!

Tree Top Climbing Monteverde: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Puntarenas.
How much does Tree Top Climbing Monteverde cost?
+
Prices start at $125 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Puntarenas usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Tree Top Climbing Monteverde take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Puntarenas is not rushed.
Is Tree Top Climbing Monteverde worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 42 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Puntarenas, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Tree Top Climbing Monteverde?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Tree Top Climbing Monteverde suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Tree Top Climbing Monteverde?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Puntarenas can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Puntarenas and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Tree Top Climbing Monteverde start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Puntarenas within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Puntarenas?
+
On Outty we rank every Puntarenas experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tortuga Island Tour with Costa Cat, 3 Hour ATV Medium Waterfall Tour (Swimmable Pool), Turtle Island, from Puntarenas, snorkeling and lunch included!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Puntarenas?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Puntarenas?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

+
Included: Hotel pickup and drop-off; Local guide; Professional guide; Bottled water; and Round-trip shared transfer. Not included: Lunch. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
