Jamaica and the MBJ airport are open for tourists!! Even after the tragic hurricane.
I finally made it to Jamaica, and I couldn’t have been more excited to arrive on the island. From the moment I landed, I was met with a warm and genuine welcome that immediately set the tone for what has already been an amazing trip. There was a small crowd at immigration and customs, but the process moved along fairly smoothly. Once we collected our bags and headed to the transportation area, we met a Nexus representative D’Anthony. He was friendly, professional, and instantly made us feel at home. He took the time to answer our questions, offer helpful local recommendations, and make sure everything was in order before we continued on our way. His positive attitude and hospitality provided the kind of welcome Jamaica is known for and made our arrival experience even more memorable. Overall, we found the service to be welcoming, respectful, and extremely helpful. I’m grateful to have met such kind people right from the start and to have begun our vacation on such a positive note. This first impression was all the indication I needed to know that our stay in Jamaica was going to be incredible. The ride to our hotel was comfortable. The Aundre was very friendly, polite, professional, helpful, and a great driver. We loved it in Jamaica!!

No Show, No Contact, No Refund – Avoid Nexus Tours
I booked and prepaid a private airport transfer for $65 USD with Nexus Tours on September 19, to pick us up at 7:30 a.m. on September 21 from Ocean Coral Spring. I was in the lobby at 7:15 (15 minutes early, as required). No driver ever arrived, and Nexus never contacted me to notify me of any delay or cancellation. The phone numbers on the voucher were out of service, so it took significant effort through resort guest services to finally reach a Nexus agent around 7:45. That agent admitted he had no reply from his team about our transfer, and by 8:00 still no driver was sent. When I asked for an immediate refund, I was told that was “not their process” and that the burden was on me to take a taxi, keep the receipt, and submit it later. Around that time, a shared bus driver arrived and was extremely rude, saying “So what? I don’t care if you booked a private transfer. If you want a private transfer, take a taxi.” He also confirmed he would be making multiple stops, which was not the service I had paid for. At that point, we had no choice but to take a taxi to avoid missing our flight. I then did everything Nexus asked: I emailed them with the voucher and refund request, and I tried twice via their website chat. In the first chat, the agent simply stopped responding. In the second, the agent promised my case was “escalated” and that someone from their team would get back to me within 48 hours. No one ever did. I never received a refund. Ultimately, I had to dispute the charge through PayPal, which ruled in my favor and refunded me. This was an unacceptable experience: No-show for a prepaid service No communication from Nexus whatsoever Wrong contact numbers on their own voucher Rude staff who dismissed my concerns No refund despite multiple follow-ups Empty promises of escalation and “48 hours” that went nowhere If I hadn’t taken action myself, I could have easily missed my flight. I strongly urge other travelers to avoid Nexus Tours and choose a reliable provider.

Terrible Service and Communication
Terrible service. Never received. Proper confirmation for transfer time, in person service too over an hour to book, was told a pick up time and that confirmation would be sent, it never was, tried to follow up was giving the exact same time as the shared transfer so we tried to inquire again as we would not have booked upgraded transfer if it was the same time. We were sent another email at 11:30 am on the day of our departure to confirm a 6:40 am pick on the same day. By the time we got the confirmation time (that was still different from the one we were told) our plane was already boarding. Tried to get a refund but spoke to 2 agents and a supervisor who said they confirmed I was given a time - the transfer showed up at a whole other time than any of the emails or time discussed in person! A refund was not given for a service that was not provided!! Save your money and take the shared transfer!!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS TOUR/TRANSFER COMPANY.
This transfer company is horrible - stay away! When we arrived in Jamaica, they let another traveller staying at a different resort take one of our suitcases without checking the name tag on the luggage. When we ended up at our resort in Runaway Bay, my husband's suitcase was missing. The driver assured us he would go check the other hotels we stopped at and bring the suitcase for us - he disappeared and we never heard from him again. Thankfully because my husband had a name/address/phone number tag on the suitcase, the other resort found out luggage and called us..we had to go pick up the suitcase ourselves via taxi on our own expense - Nexus said they couldn't do anything when I called them. Upon departing our resort, I was told I would get an email stating the pickup time for our return back to Sangster airport. Of course I got an email with the wrong flight number and wrong time. I sent them a what's app message to rectify the mistake and the customer service person was EXTREMELY rude. I tried calling and they told me to call my airline, even though I was looking at the flight info on the airlines app. Finally after some back and forth they changed our return pickup to what it should have been. I would rather pay for a private transfer next time I travel. Horrible customer service!
