Book with caution and full details.
We booked a transfer for 2 people from Quito to Papallacta and then back to the airport in Quito. The driver was on time for the first transfer. That said, the vehicle had no designation as a shuttle and was not in great shape. What I mean by that is that the seatbelt was broken, the inside of the vehicle was falling apart, and the side mirror was taped in place. The driver was a bit chaotic in how he was driving, however, we've been to dozens of countries and can appreciate that each place has it's own 'style'. We were dropped off, thankfully without incident. We requested a different vehicle for the return trip and were told there were no other vehicles available unless we wanted to pay more money and that we had requested a sedan. There was no part of the process where we were able to request or confirm a specific type of vehicle. (you can go to their website and verify this!). We paid $276 USD for the round trip (our bad for not checking out all the options before paying this crazy amount, as it can definitely be done for less money). The contact told us we needed to have the same vehicle and driver for the return trip. On the return, the driver was 45 minutes late, with ZERO communication. We had a flight to catch and we planned a cushion of time, but not this much time. We reached out to the company multiple times to get an update on the driver before we finally got a response. The driver showed up and told us that he had nearly been mugged and then the coordinator of our trip told us that the delay was due to heavy fog. We will never know what the truth of it is. The driver never communicated to either the company or to us about being late, which caused unnecessary stress. Same vehicle and same chaotic (somewhat worse) driving. We got to the airport with only a 5 minute cushion before boarding our flight. (we planned the transportation to be at the airport 2 hours early). Book with caution and ask all the questions: Refund, type of vehicle, duration of trip, etc.
Response from the operator: Dear customer, we would like to clarify a few points: First, the price to Papallacta remains the same, as the distance is long and the cost of gasoline has increased in Ecuador. Second, we apologize for the incident. Initially, we thought the delay was due to fog, but the driver later reported that he was almost robbed. These are things we cannot foresee. Third, the vehicle we offer for two people is usually a sedan, about which we haven't had any complaints. This is the first time, however, we appreciate your feedback to improve our service. Thank you.

Easy round trip to Banos from Quito
We used Go 4 Shuttle to get to Quito to Banos and back. They were easy to communicate with and were able to accommodate us even when plans changed. The drivers were very friendly and on time to pick us up at our hostels. If you are looking for an easy way around, I highly recommend this service. The service back to Quito was a few days later after arriving and it was no problem at all to arrange.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your comments. We will thoroughly review your comments and correct what is due, these comments help us maintain and, where appropriate, improve our services, We remain at your service and with the desire to serve you again. GO 4 Shuttle Quito Team

Not a good start but good finish
I hired them for driving us around from Quito to Riobamba to chuglican back to Quito. We meet Maria at the airport hotel I pay in advance. the car shows up and it’s 20-ish-year-old kid in a Subaru type of vehicle that was not in great shape. You could tell the vehicle was fairly old. the kid locks our bags and keys into the car! So we’re sitting there for about half an hour while the alarm is going off for the car while they’re trying to put a hanger through the window to open the door. It was something out of a Griswolds family vacation.and then my 14-year-old son noticed that smoke was coming out from under the hood. I told Maria what I thought about the car and immediately she hooked us up with Hector in a full-size passenger van who was awesome. They even sent me a picture of the full-size passenger van that I was going to get. That’s not what showed up in the morning. They really need to be a little bit more professional. In retrospect considering the length of the drive and the roads, that car was not fit for our journey. I never saw a vehicle with tourists doing similar routes that were being transported in the type of vehicle that kid showed up in.
Response from the operator: Good day, We are sorry to hear the inconvenience you had upon your arrival, I will review the matter with the operations department. GO 4 Shuttle Quito Team

Why this scores 51
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Transfer Quito → Papallacta (one way / round trip): questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Quito.
How much does Transfer Quito → Papallacta (one way / round trip) cost?
+
Prices start at $45 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Quito usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Transfer Quito → Papallacta (one way / round trip) take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Quito is not rushed.
Is Transfer Quito → Papallacta (one way / round trip) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Quito, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Transfer Quito → Papallacta (one way / round trip)?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Transfer Quito → Papallacta (one way / round trip) suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 30. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 2-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Transfer Quito → Papallacta (one way / round trip)?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Quito can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Quito and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Transfer Quito → Papallacta (one way / round trip) start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Quito within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Quito?
+
On Outty we rank every Quito experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cotopaxi tour from Quito -horseback ride and hike-NO TOURISTY way, Baños Full Day Tour from Quito Including Entrances and Activities, Gastronomic and Cultural Walking Tour of Quito with Tastings. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Quito?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Quito?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
