    Over priced scam. Beware

I paid $149 USD for a ten minute ride from hotel to cruise terminal. Shame on me for not using Google Maps to understand the distance. Shame on them for price gouging. Even the driver was shocked when I told him what I paid. He gets an hourly rate far below that.

Response from the operator: Dear Carol, We are shocked to read your 1 star review. We are a luxury travel company that provides good services with a 5 star service level. (clean and luxury vehicles, good drivers, well clothed, free wifi, bottled water etc). And you booked by us and this means that a limousine service is more expensive then a regualr taxi service. I have to note that we don't have drivers for an hourly rate, the drivers we book are self employed. The rate that you have paid is € 125,- and that is incl. a commision of 26.10% = € 32,64 for Viator. That means € 92,36 left for us but we have to pay the driver € 60,- so our profit is € 32,36 is this a scam? I don't think so. We work with fixed rates for all of our city transfers in Amsterdam no matter what the actual distance is. The hotel that you were staying in was nearby the cruise port and therefore you feel that it is way overpriced, but again, for each city transfer, no matter the distance it is the same rate regardless. We are a trustworthy and reliable company with many happy returning clients and guests as you can read in all of the reviews below. It is unfortunate that you wrongly write a bad review that damages our reputation.

    Gentle cruising!

Our driver, Gavin, was prompt and professional. He said GPS has our trip as a 14 minute ride. He took it as a personal challenge. After doing a figure 8 donut out of the parking lot we careened our way through the narrow side streets of Amsterdam. We did stop for most of the red lights and only used sidewalk shortcuts 3 times. His 4 wheel drifting skills came in handy as we maneuvered around the local train traffic. Arriving well ahead of schedule with minimal impact to our precious gift artifacts we purchased on our trip. All said a fantastic experience, much more entertaining than anticipated. OK, just kidding….Gavin was great!

Response from the operator: Dear Donald, Thank you for your review. I am happy that you enjoyed your transfer and that you are satisfied about our driver and services!

    Excellent driver

Our driver arrived 15 minutes early, to our delight even thought traffic was horrendous that morning. He was very professional and courteous. Our ride to the hotel from the cruise terminal was very smooth. Along the way he pointed out a couple of things as well as telling us about a fantastic place to go for dim sum. Will definitely use this service again.

Transfer from a hotel in Amsterdam to cruise port in Amsterdam: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Amsterdam.

How much does Transfer from a hotel in Amsterdam to cruise port in Amsterdam cost?

    +

Prices start at $22 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Amsterdam usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Transfer from a hotel in Amsterdam to cruise port in Amsterdam take?

    +

Plan for about 0.4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Amsterdam is not rushed.

Is Transfer from a hotel in Amsterdam to cruise port in Amsterdam worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 49 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Amsterdam, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Transfer from a hotel in Amsterdam to cruise port in Amsterdam?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Transfer from a hotel in Amsterdam to cruise port in Amsterdam suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 0.4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Transfer from a hotel in Amsterdam to cruise port in Amsterdam?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Amsterdam can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Amsterdam and add a light layer if any part of the 0.4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Transfer from a hotel in Amsterdam to cruise port in Amsterdam start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Amsterdam within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Amsterdam?

    +

On Outty we rank every Amsterdam experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Amsterdam Canal Cruise with Local Guide and Small Group, Guided Bike Tour of Amsterdam's Highlights & Hidden Gems, Amsterdam: Luxury Canal Cruise including Cocktails & Snacks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Amsterdam?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Amsterdam?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
