Spend the morning or afternoon learning the ancient art of Vietnamese woodworking side-by-side with the seasoned sculptors and artisans from the Kim Bong Carpentry village. Explore our workshop, studio space and art gallery with our experienced guide. Hear the stories of cultural significance and the meaning behind each of these stunning works of art. After we learn a bit about the history, traditions and culture of Vietnam and the Quang Nam, it is time to create your own work of art to take home with you and making memories that will last a lifetime. Our seasoned artisans will teach you basic chiseling techniques. Then, they will help you visualize your design and sketch it onto recycled driftwood. Finally, they will guide you as you carve and paint your masterpiece.

Friendly, fun, chilled experience
I had a lovely morning yesterday carving a driftwood fish. I went on my own but sat at a table and chatted with some others. We started with a choice of drinks, then were shown how to use the different carving tools and given additional help when needed. We then could paint our creation and take all the time we needed, there was no rush. We could also look around the different workshops and buy carved souvenirs, with no pressure at all. I booked online by email and they were responsive and helpful. It was a lovely gentle 2 ½ hours in beautiful, chilled surroundings.

Very good activity to try in Hoi An
This was a real highlight of our time in Hoi An. Both parents and kids (so from 7 to 55 years old!) got completely absorbed in doing the woodwork. Just enough help from the experts. Highly recommended.

The best experience!
This place is amazing! Firstly the staff are incredibly welcoming and attentive. My two sons signed up for a workshop and it was sensational! The level of support they received during the workshop was just the best (my boys are 12 and 9 years old). The level of challenge in the session was so well pitched and the boys learned so much. The woodwork available to view and purchase was so good and being able to observe the staff making and creating was also very cool. The facility is located in a very beautiful location, surrounded by rice fields and bike tracks. Overall a fantastic experience and highly recommended for children who like to make things and enjoy hands on experiences.

Very unique experience working with local carpenters to create wooden art and painting courses. Excellent time working together as a family and learning new skill. Beautiful property filled with recycled wooden art. Worth a visit for workshop or just tour of art galleries.

Chilled workshop highly recommended
The wood carving workshop is so much fun, we would love to do it again! We can very much recommend it 😊 the place is lovely and the shown art alone is worth visiting. The workshop is well organised and from the welcome drink, the tips and tricks of the artisan and the chilled atmosphere makes it a superb event for half a day 😉 thanks again!
