Very poor service: this is NOT the Hammam for you!

Well fellow travellers, this was a disaster. We have rated it a 1-Star only because that is the lowest score. Please read on for our full review. We booked this months ago: NO initial contact received: sent an email a month out: NO reply: sent 3 emails from the night before to the morning of the tour, NO reply: rang an hour before: NO contact made: waited 25 minutes outside our Riad, as arranged in our confirmed documentation. Went back inside our room & contacted Viator support who again excelled at their customer service: they investigated & within 24 hrs issued a full refund to us. We have had two Hammams on our holidays in Morocco so far, organised by locals for us: as westerners we had not enjoyed this on our many previous OS holidays, as it is unique to this country. Definitely try it as it is such a terrific experience. So back to the operator in question: our advice is DO NOT go on this experience: we had arranged to meet at our Riad as per our confirmed booking: they took our money and must have thought we wouldn’t report them; they are mistaken. We praise the greater majority of our Viator experiences but we will call out operators who think they can get away with this type of unacceptable conduct. So, our final words: don’t waste your money on this operator, get local assistance in finding a good Hammam and enjoy every second of this unique Moroccan experience. We booked this for mid-Sept. Happy travels everyone. GreyNomads

Response from the operator: Hello, Regarding the problem that occurred two months ago, some unexpected circumstances happened and we had to stop the activity temporarily. I am sure that nobody from our team confirmed the booking with you, either by email or WhatsApp, and nobody contacted you to arrange to meet you in front of the riad. You were refunded, of course, and we are truly sorry for what happened. It was completely beyond our control, and it was never our intention to cause you any inconvenience. However, after a booking is made, there is always a confirmation that needs to be sent and received before the activity takes place. If you are still in Morocco, I would be happy to offer you a complimentary hammam experience, even though what happened was not intentional. Once again, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and hope we can make it up to you. Thank you for your understanding.
