Best educational experience in Jogja
Excellent immersive experience learning Jemparingan with Pak Agung. My group really loved the education and history of the sport, as well as the way Pak Agung explained everything in a very calm and wise manner. The step by step approach was very detailed and allowed us to understand the art and technique behind it with respect. When we actually got to try the Jemparingan, it was super addictive and fun. My favourite part was the meditative experience where all you had to do was focus on yourself and what you were doing. I had been searching for a Jemparingan class for a long time and was so happy I came across this workshop and the opportunity to learn from a master. We also had a very good translator-guide Salwa who was lovely and fun company. Definitely highly recommended for a true Javanese experience! Do support such local artisans!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the 5-star rating! We’re thrilled to hear that you enjoyed our service. Your support means a lot to us, and we can’t wait to welcome you back again in the future!

Great fun!
A new and truly different experience. We learned about Javanese culture during the class which was very interesting. It was also nice to see our shooting improve by the end of the session, which made it all the more enjoyable.
Response from the operator: Thanks for coming! Glad to have you, welcome back anytime 🙂🙏

Terrific!
What a COOL experience! The company was very accommodating and quick to respond over WhatsApp. We arrived 30 mins late bc of various road closures close to the address but Bagus and the teacher still accommodated us. My kid, 9 year old son, had a great time, as did I. The archery teacher is also an artist and so the bows are beautifully handcrafted by him and the teaching studio is lovely. Bagus was our guide and helped facilitate translation….then went out of his way to give us a lift to the temple afterwards when it was clear we would not make it to prambanan otherwise before closing. Thank you!
Response from the operator: Thanks for coming! Glad to have you, welcome back anytime 🙂🙏

Why this scores 61
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Traditional Javanese Archery Class: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Yogyakarta.
How much does Traditional Javanese Archery Class cost?
+
Prices start at $27 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Yogyakarta usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Traditional Javanese Archery Class take?
+
Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Yogyakarta is not rushed.
Is Traditional Javanese Archery Class worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Yogyakarta, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Traditional Javanese Archery Class?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Traditional Javanese Archery Class suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Traditional Javanese Archery Class?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Yogyakarta can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Yogyakarta and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Traditional Javanese Archery Class start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Yogyakarta within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Yogyakarta?
+
On Outty we rank every Yogyakarta experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Yogyakarta Private Car Hire with Driver, From Surabaya / Malang : Mt Bromo Sunrise - Ijen Blue Fire 2D1N, Borobudur Full Climb Up And Prambanan ALL INCLUSIVE PRIVATE Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Yogyakarta?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Yogyakarta?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
