   As we drive past the Niagara Power Generating Station, you’ll witness one of the world’s oldest and most significant hydroelectric power plants. Opened in 1922, this facility harnesses the immense power of the Niagara River to generate electricity for both Canada and the United States. It stands as a testament to the early use of renewable energy and the groundbreaking engineering that made it possible. While we won’t be stopping, you’ll have a chance to admire the station’s impressive structure and learn about its vital role in providing power to the region. 6. Laura Secord Homestead

This museum, located in Queenston, celebrates the legacy of William Lyon Mackenzie, a key figure in the Rebellions of 1837 and the founder of Canada’s first newspaper, the Colonial Advocate. The Mackenzie Printery is housed in a historic building that once served as a printing press and office for Mackenzie’s newspaper.
