The BEST day out
This was the best trip of our entire holiday! It all ran very smoothly and Everald was a fantastic guide - super friendly and knowledgeable and made us feel very comfortable. The waterfalls are just stunning and everything about this day was fun and memory making! I highly recommend this tour!

Good Experience
Picked up on time in an air conditioned mini bus. Just 3 couples which was great. The first stop was the Black River cruise which took us part areas that had been devastated by the 2025 hurricane (very sad sight). The river trip was fun, lots of wildlife and a good, informative guide. Onto the YS falls. We pre-ordered lunch from the little restaurant near the transport terminus. The falls are beautiful but you MUST wear water shoes, don't worry if you don't have them they are $10 from the gift shop. Plus get a waterproof phone holder, also available from the gift shop. There are changing facilities at the base of the falls. Be prepared for the chilly water as you are taken fully into the water and the guide then takes photos of you with your phone/camera. Once you have finished you return to the restaurant area and we had a nice goat curry and a cold drink...goat curry that seemed to be more goat bones than meat but still tasty. Overall a good day out and a chance to see a bit of the local area en route.

All the sights from a local perspective
Excellent day of exploring the west and south of Jamaica with Everald and Nicole. We were picked up promptly from our hotel in an air conditioned minibus. With 30 years of experience, Everald was very knowledgeable and was happy to share his island with us. We were told about all aspects of the sights in a relaxed atmosphere. Nothing was a problem. We had such a great day that we booked a second trip later in the week.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I highly recommend this day tour with Everald and Nicole. Easy to book, punctual arrival to pick us up at our hotel, easy going and very friendly and informative, we felt unrushed and well looked after. Great company and conversation from a local who is proud to be Jamaican 🇯🇲

100% satified!!
If you want a fun tour with the right information about Jamaica, Everald is your man. Culture and music are in this man’s genes, and he takes the time to explain everything with love for the country. Along the way, he also lets you taste the street food—and trust me, he really knows what he’s doing! We’ve now booked a second tour with Everald. 100% satisfied!!

Why this scores 82
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Tour to Black River and YS Falls: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Negril.
How much does Tour to Black River and YS Falls cost?
+
Prices start at $200 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Negril usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Tour to Black River and YS Falls take?
+
Plan for about 8.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Negril is not rushed.
Is Tour to Black River and YS Falls worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 82 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 59 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Negril, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Tour to Black River and YS Falls?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Tour to Black River and YS Falls suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Tour to Black River and YS Falls?
+
Around 21 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Negril can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Negril and add a light layer if any part of the 8.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Tour to Black River and YS Falls start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Negril within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Negril?
+
On Outty we rank every Negril experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Transportation and Tour from Montego Bay to Blue Hole/Secret Falls, Negril Glass Bottom Boat Tour Snorkeling and Booby Cay, ATV, Bamboo Rafting and Negril Ricks Cafe from Montego Bay. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Negril?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Negril?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
