Felt like a road trip with cousins! Highly recommend Abu Simbel with Ahmed B.

Two of us did an overnight trip from Aswan to Abu Simbel and back. We were with Khaled driving and Ahmed Badran accompanying us. Khaled is a super-safe driver. Even though he does not speak too much English, he has an amazing sense of humor and is so professional and courteous. Ahmed Badran was one of the key highlights of our Egypt trip (which included a 5-star Nile cruise with an archelogy PhD guiding us, so the bar was high). But Ahmed was not only on time, professional, engaging, respectful, he treated us like guests of his home and family than paid clients. During the drive we shared our life experiences, shared values, interest in football and Bollywood movies etc which taught us more than any Egyptologist or guide could have. Even after the long desert drive in 40C heat, he offered for us to hang out with him after dinner if we wished! Of course we did not want to bother him, but it felt less like he was a lawyer on the clock. The guide he arranged at Abu Simbel was also super sharp and engaging. The car had clean interior and really good working air conditioning, a necessity in the summer! Khaled and Ahmed brought cold drinks and water. When I was excited to see the fresh-baked bread on the street, they immediately pulled over and got me fresh bread! We had a lovely tea stop midway where we exchanged more laughs. The agency itself was so great to work with. Ahmed (a different one whose last name I should know by now...) who I first cold contacted through the website has been super responsive, flexible, and professional. He was receptive to my feedback on another segment of this journey (Cairo) he had arranged for us which was not quite fantastic as the Abu Simbel trip with Ahmed B and Khaled was. We will definitely recommend the agency and especially our Abu Simbel duo to friends and family and we plan to return for a longer more in-depth visit with Happy Egypt. This segment of the trip was good enough to post a review after almost 14 years of not being active on TA!

Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you so much for this heartfelt review and for taking the time to share it with us, especially after 14 years away from TripAdvisor — we're truly honored you chose to write about your experience with us! We're absolutely delighted to hear about your overnight trip to Abu Simbel with Khaled and Ahmed Badran. They both take great pride in making guests feel like family rather than just clients, so it means the world to us that this came through so clearly during your journey together — from the fresh bread stop to the tea break and the offer to hang out after dinner. That's exactly the spirit we hope every traveler experiences with Happy Egypt. We also really appreciate your honest feedback regarding the Cairo segment of your trip. We take this seriously, and we've shared your comments with our team so we can keep improving that part of our service for future guests. Thank you again for your kind words, your loyalty, and for recommending us to your friends and family. We would be thrilled to welcome you back for a longer, more in-depth journey with Happy Egypt whenever you're ready! Warm regards, Essam Mahmoud Happy Egypt Travel Services

Unforgettable Abu Simbel Overnight Tour with Happy Egypt Tours

I had an incredible experience on my overnight trip to Abu Simbel with Happy Egypt Tours. From the moment I was picked up until the final drop off, everything was perfectly organized and stress-free. Our guide, Gaber, was absolutely fantastic - extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming. He shared so much fascinating history and made the whole journey both educational and enjoyable. The Abu Simbel Sound and Light Show was simply amazing - seeing the temples illuminated under the night sky was a breathtaking experience. Afterward, we visited a traditional café, where we relaxed with fresh mint tea and shisha - a wonderful way to end the evening. I highly recommend Happy Egypt Tours and especially Gaber to anyone visiting Egypt. Their professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail made this trip truly unforgettable!

Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you for this wonderful review! We're so happy that Gaber's knowledge and warmth made your overnight trip to Abu Simbel special, and that the Sound and Light Show — followed by mint tea and shisha — capped off the evening perfectly. Thank you for highly recommending Happy Egypt Tours and Gaber — we hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable Egyptian adventure! Warm regards, Essam Mahmoud Happy Egypt Travel Services

Tour To Abu Simbel Temples By Road: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Aswan.

How much does Tour To Abu Simbel Temples By Road cost?

    +

Prices start at $130 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Aswan usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Tour To Abu Simbel Temples By Road take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Aswan is not rushed.

Is Tour To Abu Simbel Temples By Road worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Aswan, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Tour To Abu Simbel Temples By Road?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Tour To Abu Simbel Temples By Road suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Tour To Abu Simbel Temples By Road?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Aswan can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Aswan and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Tour To Abu Simbel Temples By Road start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Aswan within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Aswan?

    +

On Outty we rank every Aswan experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 3 or 2 or 1 Nights Mighty Nile Felucca Adventure, 4-Day 3-Night Nile Cruise from Aswan to Luxor - Private Tour, 4-Day 3-Night Nile Cruise from Aswan to Luxor&Abu Simbel+Balloon. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Aswan?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Aswan?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

    +
