    DONT BOOK THIS

Absolutely horrible. No clear information on exactly what the meeting time was. In the description it said 7am due to us being from a resort outside the bayahibe area. At check out it says to input the hotel/resort you’re staying in. We thought since ours was included in the list, they would pick up, since in the title of the trip it says La Romana (which is where we were staying). We later came to find out that they don’t pick up at La Romana, only at the “meeting point” which is in Bayahibe which was an hr away from us. So we had to figure out transportation there which was an extra expense, since the instructions were misleading. After waking up at 5am and figuring out transportation we arrived at 6:30, we contacted the tour operator that then informed us that the meeting time was actually at 9:30am but no where in the app was this mentioned. Given that we were not going to wait 3 hours we took another hour back to the resort

Response from the operator: Hello Ruben, thank you for sharing your experience. We are very sorry for any frustration regarding the logistics, but we would like to clarify how our tours operate. As clearly stated in our booking descriptions, hotel pickups are exclusively available within the Bayahibe area, while bookings originating outside this zone require guests to meet at our designated meeting point. Our support team is always available via phone or chat to assist with schedules and guidance in real-time. We regret that you chose not to wait for your scheduled departure, and we wish you all the best.

Enjoy Saono Island with more tranquility and more hours of beach

With my husband we made the excursion to Saône Island with Argento in Bayahibe (I found them on Instagram) are two young Argentines, Diego and Florence who take you to enjoy the island in a more relaxed way, with more time of enjoyment on the beaches. In our case we took the premium excursion, the one way trip was about an hour. We visited Mano Juan, a fishing village, its beach and turtle sanctuary. On this beach we were given lunch with a choice between chicken, pork or fish accompanied by rice and salad. The second stop was Playa del Canto, where we were given fruit. Both beautiful beaches!!! and with fewer people. Always drink available, water, first line sodas and also open bar, all without limit throughout the excursion and also offered coffee. They really let you enjoy the beach, you are around 2 hours in each, no one rushes you. The day ends with the visit to the natural pools, where you see the starfish, which is not to mention: THEY CAN'T GET OUT OF THE SEA FOR A PICTURE. We were picked up by the hotel, we were at Secrets La Romana very close to where the boats leave, at this point there was a bit of disorganization but nothing that tarnished the day we were going to live. Really if I go back to RD I would choose them again!

Response from the operator: ¡Muchísimas gracias por compartir una reseña tan detallada y bonita, Andrea! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    Unfortunately, no collection is made.

Unfortunately, we were not picked up in La Romana as promised, so for us the trip was cancelled at short notice. We hope to get our money back. We would have loved to have taken the tour.

Tour Saona Island from Bayhibe La Romana: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Punta Cana.

How much does Tour Saona Island from Bayhibe La Romana cost?

    +

Prices start at $7 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Punta Cana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Tour Saona Island from Bayhibe La Romana take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Punta Cana is not rushed.

Is Tour Saona Island from Bayhibe La Romana worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 49 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (2.8/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Punta Cana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Tour Saona Island from Bayhibe La Romana?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Tour Saona Island from Bayhibe La Romana suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Tour Saona Island from Bayhibe La Romana?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Punta Cana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Punta Cana and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Tour Saona Island from Bayhibe La Romana start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Punta Cana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Punta Cana?

    +

On Outty we rank every Punta Cana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Punta Cana Zipline - 8 lines and a suspenseful hanging bridge, Punta Cana Buggy or ATV Tour with Macao Beach, Cave and Tastings, Buggy Excursion to Macau Beach and Natural Cave. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Punta Cana?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Punta Cana?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
