For many years it was the most important street in the city, characterized by being the most "aristocratic" and where the most famous inhabitants of the city met. The minor basilica and convent of Nuestra Señora de la Merced is a religious building in Peru, which was built by Brother Miguel de Orenes in 1535, taking the Archangel San Miguel as its owner.
