    About this experience

An exclusive group tour to Toledo and the windmills. Very different from the bus tours for large groups that operate daily from Mad. This small group tour gives you the opportunity to visit the famous glowing-white windmills featured in Don Quixote, a reputable winery, and enjoy lunch at a restaurant with great manchego food and a fantastic Castilian atmosphere. You will be chauffeured onwards to Toledo´s city center where you will discover 2 historical monuments including its gothic cathedral and an outstanding lofty synagogue.  Average group size is 4 with a maximum of 7 people.  3 amazing experiences in 1 day!

    Best tour in Spain

Raul got us to all the best sites! We loved all the choices but if possible would have loved a short perk in the El Greco museum ( found the one in the cathedral although wished our guide had stayed with us there) and would have loved to walked the bridge as we left Toledo. Our visits to the windmills, our lunch, and wine tasting was perfect! Also loved the ceramics, jewelry, and marzipan! This was our best tour in Spain and we highly recommend it!

    Beautiful Windmills of Consuegra!

We drove from Madrid to Toledo. Ours was a private tour for a group of 6. Our guide Yolanda was highly knowledgeable with a warm engaging personality. Our 14 seater minivan was nice and clean. The driver was also very good. It was approximately a couple of hours drive from Madrid, with a pit stop for coffee and bathroom in a small town of Consuegra, a stone throw away. The windmills are on a hilltop overlooking the town of Consuegra and surrounding areas. Simply beautiful! And even more so if you have read Don Quixote. The windmills are well maintained, and offer an insight on how grain was milled back in the 16th century. If the 13 in total, 12 windmills have been restored. These windmills not only offer a glimpse into Spain’s agricultural past but also provide stunning views of the La Mancha plains and a connection to literary history.

New vision on return trip to Toledo

Nice experience , knowledgeable guide. Interesting site at windmills. Lunch was tasteful. The visit to the cathedral could improve with explanation inside.

A great day for us- Thank you Giuseppe!

Our tour was magnificent and impeccably conducted by our guide, Giuseppe. From the tour van, to the magnificence of Toledo and La Mancha, to a great and considerate winery and restaurant visit to BODEGAS TIERRAS DE ORGAZ hosted by Elena Rincon- the day was perfect. Our family of four learned much from our tour and Giuseppe- we can't say enough about the day and Giuseppes ability to translate what we saw into true meaning for us. Great tour, wine, people and a great day. Bravo!

Toledo, Windmills, Winery Small Group Tour with Lunch from Madrid: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Madrid.

How much does Toledo, Windmills, Winery Small Group Tour with Lunch from Madrid cost?

    +

Prices start at $326 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Madrid usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Toledo, Windmills, Winery Small Group Tour with Lunch from Madrid take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Madrid is not rushed.

Is Toledo, Windmills, Winery Small Group Tour with Lunch from Madrid worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 15 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Madrid, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Toledo, Windmills, Winery Small Group Tour with Lunch from Madrid?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Toledo, Windmills, Winery Small Group Tour with Lunch from Madrid suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Toledo, Windmills, Winery Small Group Tour with Lunch from Madrid?

    +

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Madrid can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Madrid and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Toledo, Windmills, Winery Small Group Tour with Lunch from Madrid start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Madrid within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Madrid?

    +

On Outty we rank every Madrid experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Madrid Essential: Historic Center, Plaza Mayor & Royal Palace, Madrid Walking Tour from Puerta del Sol to Retiro Park, Madrid Oscuro: Torture, Ghosts, Crimes and Legends. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Madrid?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Madrid?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
