Jewish Quarter of Toledo
The oldest written documents that we have from Jews in Toledo are from the fourth century, in the Roman era, although it is possible that they established themselves in the city before then. On our tour, we will walk through the narrow streets of the old Jewish quarter, visiting the main monuments and underground archaeological remains that made this Jewish quarter one of the most important in Europe.

Sinagoga del Transito
El Tránsito Synagogue, also known as the Synagogue of Samuel Leví, was built after the King Peter I’s treasurer ordered its construction in 1355. Although the building of new synagogues was not allowed at that time, approving its construction was King Peter I’s way of thanking the Jewish community for supporting him in the war against his brother Enrique de Trastámara. Inside the synagogue, we can admire the incredible prayer room decorated with rich plasterwork and the National Museum of Sephardic Culture.

Synagogue Of Saint Mary The White
The Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca, was one of the eleven synagogues that stood in Toledo until the end of the fourteenth century. This is one of the oldest in Europe and was built at the end of the twelfth century or beginning of the thirteenth century in Mudejar style. The oriental style can also be appreciated in the sobriety of the exterior decoration, which is the complete opposite of the beautiful adornment found in its interior.

Best Tour Guide in Toledo - Spain
When visiting Toledo I believe it is very important to go with a guide. There is so much history to know and learn and simply walking the streets on your own you cannot understand and know what the history is. We were so fortunate to be able to have Javier (Javi) as our tour guide. He gave us incredible information that is not told elsewhere. He was so incredibly polite and personable. If you are visiting Toledo I cannot recommend Javi more to give you a personal tour. Whether in a large group or just a couple he will make you feel as if you are one on one as he will give everyone personal attention and answer any questions and tell any details. He has been in the tourism business working since 2008 and even longer as this is his family business and he understands how to make your visit the best possible. We leave Toledo with a new friend for life!

Perfect way to see this town and learn its history
Javier was an incredible guide. He met us at the train station at our request and offered us multiple ways to get to the hilly town - we opted to walk. At all times he offered insight into the history, architecture, culture and vibe of the city. As a many-generation inhabitant, he had a special perspective that other tour operators couldn’t have. He offered to help us navigate our time after the tour including photo points and restaurants. Communication was excellent - from booking through travel and the tour. It was a busy holiday weekend so having a private tour allowed us to see everything and navigate without being overwhelmed. The museum was a must and worth the minimal line. We highly recommend this tour and especially if Javier can be your guide. The whole experience left us feeling like we had a privileged peek at ancient life in this beautiful town while walking with a knowledgeable and dear friend.

First of all we had...
First of all we had Javier. He’s amazing. I got a private tour with my girlfriend. I’ve been on a few private tours through Europe. This was worth every penny. Most tour guides, IMO, don’t read the room and pace the tour with what the people paying want or care about and go at the right speed. Javier was the best. Toledo was amazing. Definitely need to see and have someone take you around explaining things as you go.

Javier was amazing. I’ve had a few private tour guides throughout my trips to Europe and I can say Javier was the best. He was accommodating on where to meet and when. He showed us more than then we expected. Best of all he moved at the speed we wanted to go. So many guides are either too slow or all over the place. I would highly recommend spending the extra dollars. Well Worth it.

Javi is a very knowledgeable, experienced, considerate, and friendly guide. It was both highly informative and a real joy to explore Toledo with him. He has deep family roots in Toledo but has also travelled and studied outside of Spain. He has great enthusiasm for the city, its history, and the Jewish quarter and was happy to answer our many questions. We highly recommend him and have already recommended him to friends.
