Such an amazing experience!

Paco was an absolutely amazing guide! He brought us to a really yummy restaurant for breakfast before our excursion and we also stopped for dinner after. He was incredibly kind and informative and knew a lot about the history of Tolantongo. Our driver was also so nice and got us there and back safely. I never once felt unsafe! Would 100000% recommend this tour!

Beautiful place worth the long drive.

I booked directly with Amigo Tours at their office. The man who booked me was extremely helpful and answered the questions I asked accurately. The weather was perfect, Tolantango was beautiful, and the water was lovely. It was worth the long drive. The guide and driver were good. The guide told us what to expect, orienting us to each of the stops. There was one thing that troubled me: the guide told us he would leave us if we were not at the bus on time. At the final place, he drew our attention to the hotel we wanted to get back to. From there we needed to go back to the van. I had some difficulty finding my way from the pools back to the hotel. I wasn’t the only one as I met others who had made a wrong turn as well. The route was a little confusing. Then the parking area was on two levels and once I got to the hotel, I couldn’t remember where the van was. I left the pools early so that I would be able to make mistakes and still get back on time. It would have been better to designate a place by the pools for us to meet and then all walk up together. That would have eliminated the stress about not finding the way back to the van and being left behind.

Tolantongo Caves Hot Springs & Waterfalls Small Group Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mexico City.

How much does Tolantongo Caves Hot Springs & Waterfalls Small Group Tour cost?

+

Prices start at $94 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mexico City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Tolantongo Caves Hot Springs & Waterfalls Small Group Tour take?

+

Plan for about 14 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mexico City is not rushed.

Is Tolantongo Caves Hot Springs & Waterfalls Small Group Tour worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 334 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Mexico City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Tolantongo Caves Hot Springs & Waterfalls Small Group Tour?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Tolantongo Caves Hot Springs & Waterfalls Small Group Tour suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 3. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 14-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Tolantongo Caves Hot Springs & Waterfalls Small Group Tour?

+

Around 117 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mexico City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mexico City and add a light layer if any part of the 14-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Tolantongo Caves Hot Springs & Waterfalls Small Group Tour start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mexico City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Mexico City?

+

On Outty we rank every Mexico City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Frida Kahlo VIP [Museum Tickets Included] Walk, Markets & Churros, Local Foodie Adventure CDMX: Tacos & more with Sherpa Food Tours, Mexico City Historical Centre Food Tour with 7 Tastings & Drinks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Mexico City?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Mexico City?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
