None-Alike, A Perfect Blend of Delicious Sushi and Cultural Insight!
The tour was incredible from start to finish! Our guide Ryoko was very thoughtful and ensured I had all the essential knowledge before starting the meal. The sushi omakase course was served at one of the most prestigious and highly sought-after sushi restaurants, and we were incredibly fortunate to secure counter seats right in front of the head chef (Waka-danna)! I got to observe his master skill within a foot! Ryoko took the time to teach me about the rich history and culture surrounding sushi, which deepened my appreciation for this culinary art. Beyond the amazing food, I walked away with fascinating insights about sushi culture and etiquette, which made the experience all the more enriching. I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for something special, unique, and eye-opening. It’s not just a meal; it’s a memorable journey into Japanese culinary traditions!

Authentic sushi dining + learning experience!
Ryoko-san was a wonderful guide and I learned so much from this experience! I’ve eaten at higher-end sushi restaurants before, but always felt a bit timid/awkward since I was worried I was unknowingly doing something wrong/impolite. But Ryoko-san’s manners lesson beforehand taught me what I needed to know to walk in confidently! (And she was very supportive and sweet when I inevitably made some fumbles during the meal, haha) And of course, the sushi itself was SO good. The restaurant is tucked away off a side street in a residential-ish area - truly a hidden gem, and a place that locals frequent! I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an authentic sushi dining experience :) Note: the manners lesson is held at a separate location, “Hotel Gajyoen”, which is STUNNING! If there is room in your schedule, it’s totally worth arriving early to take some extra time to explore it!!!

Submersion into the culture of sushi
This experience was wonderful! I've had high-end sushi with business associates before, but I didn't know any of the etiquette that should have gone with it and we racked up quite a few faux pas that night... Here, I got a mini-lesson on the etiquette beforehand and a stress-free place to practice right after. I still had some faux pas, but both Ryoko-san and our sushi chef were very open, friendly, understanding and helpful, answering all of my questions with lots of detail and satisfying my curiosity. I don't know anywhere else you can get such an in-depth experience of sushi. I can't recommend this enough!

A beautiful experience!
It was a wonderful experience and an amazing opportunity to learn all about the history of sushi and the proper way to eat it at one of the best sushi restaurants in Tokyo. Thanks to this experience I could understand better the customs and colture of Japan!

Authentic and delicious, great experience!
I lived the experience with a friend and it has been great!! I have learned a lot about the history of sushi, its techniques and above all, the proper way and etiquette to eat at a Sushi restaurant. Of course, the food was delicous and the atmosphere was very good, but everything was in a perfectly balanced by Ryoko, she is a great host, leaving no doubt and always explaining everything with a smile. His english is perfect, it is a unique experience that cannot be missed if you come to Japan!.

Why this scores 59
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Tokyo Sushi Tour: Explore Sushi Tradition and Dining Etiquette: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tokyo.
How much does Tokyo Sushi Tour: Explore Sushi Tradition and Dining Etiquette cost?
+
Prices start at $524 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tokyo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Tokyo Sushi Tour: Explore Sushi Tradition and Dining Etiquette take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tokyo is not rushed.
Is Tokyo Sushi Tour: Explore Sushi Tradition and Dining Etiquette worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Tokyo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Tokyo Sushi Tour: Explore Sushi Tradition and Dining Etiquette?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Tokyo Sushi Tour: Explore Sushi Tradition and Dining Etiquette suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Tokyo Sushi Tour: Explore Sushi Tradition and Dining Etiquette?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tokyo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tokyo and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Tokyo Sushi Tour: Explore Sushi Tradition and Dining Etiquette start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tokyo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Tokyo?
+
Tokyo is less a city than a stack of neighborhoods with completely different opening hours. A guided food crawl through Shinjuku's Omoide Yokocho gets you past the no-tourist curtains, while the day trips west to Hakone and Fuji need an early start to be worth the fare. Our ranking weighs guide quality heavily here, because in Tokyo the guide is the product. On Outty we rank every Tokyo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tokyo Shinjuku Chopsticks Making Class, Tokyo : Asakusa Chopsticks Making Class, Shinjuku Night Food and Bar Crawl. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Tokyo?
+
Late March to May for blossom, October to November for clear Fuji views. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Tokyo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
