So much fun experience and strongly recommend!

Was soooo fun! Good experience we could ask for! We could explore real side of Japan! Went to the izakaya in the middle of izakaya allay. The tour guide told us a lot of the side stories and we never knew of Japanese culture. You can explore Japanese night culture well and I strongly recommend x

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your enthusiastic review! We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed exploring the “real side” of Japan through the izakaya alley and appreciated the cultural stories shared by our guide. It means a lot to us that you strongly recommend this experience, and we would be delighted to welcome you again for another fun and memorable night in Tokyo.

Japanese bar hoping

The tour started with a little rain, but it felt so warm and cozy—just the perfect time for drinking!!! hehe. We went straight to an izakaya (a Japanese bar) filled with locals, and it really felt like being in the heart of Japan. I especially loved the grilled rice ball—it was so delicious! After that, we went to karaoke. It was my first time singing with strangers, but it made me feel so relaxed and happy. Overall, it was such a fun experience, and I’d love to join again!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We are delighted that even with a little rain, you felt the warm and cozy atmosphere of the evening. It is wonderful to hear you enjoyed the authentic izakaya setting, especially the grilled rice ball, and that karaoke with new friends became such a relaxing and happy memory. We truly appreciate your kind words and would be honored to welcome you again for another joyful night in Tokyo.

Very worth the experience

Very interesting and unique experience that I have never had in any other tours. Joined the bar hoping tour and we were taken to try a lot of types of bar in Japan, there was even a karaoke typa bar where we can sing for the whole bar, not in 1 karaoke room like usual. The tour guide and the crew were very professional but very friendly and fun, erasing the distant between other people in the group. Would definitely book this company again!!

Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review! We are delighted that you found the tour to be such a unique experience, especially with the chance to enjoy karaoke in a way that is different from the usual private rooms. It is also encouraging to hear that our guide and team helped create a warm and friendly atmosphere within the group. Your kind words and trust mean a lot to us, and we would be honored to welcome you again for another memorable night in Tokyo.

Recommend

Our guide, Mr. Musu (that’s what he asked us to call him), was super kind and friendly. He kept sharing fun stories about the places we passed, which made the whole night feel really personal. We begin at local Izakaya. It was packed inside but the food was authentic and tasty. After that, led us to a hidden karaoke bar. From outside you’d never guess it was a bar, but the inside has a nice relaxing vibe. We wrap up the night in an old Japanese bar district. This time we sat in front of the bartender. Everything was very well prepared despite it was raining all night.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your thoughtful review. We are delighted to hear that Mr. Musu’s stories and guidance made the evening feel so personal and enjoyable. It is wonderful that you appreciated the authentic izakaya dishes, the hidden karaoke spot, and the traditional bar district to close the night. We are also glad that, despite the rain, everything went smoothly and you felt well taken care of. We look forward to welcoming you back for another memorable evening in Tokyo.

Tokyo | Shinjuku Night Tour: Izakaya, Karaoke & Bar Hopping: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tokyo.

How much does Tokyo | Shinjuku Night Tour: Izakaya, Karaoke & Bar Hopping cost?

+

Prices start at $16500 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tokyo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Tokyo | Shinjuku Night Tour: Izakaya, Karaoke & Bar Hopping take?

+

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tokyo is not rushed.

Is Tokyo | Shinjuku Night Tour: Izakaya, Karaoke & Bar Hopping worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tokyo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Tokyo | Shinjuku Night Tour: Izakaya, Karaoke & Bar Hopping?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Tokyo | Shinjuku Night Tour: Izakaya, Karaoke & Bar Hopping suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 20. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Tokyo | Shinjuku Night Tour: Izakaya, Karaoke & Bar Hopping?

+

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tokyo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tokyo and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Tokyo | Shinjuku Night Tour: Izakaya, Karaoke & Bar Hopping start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tokyo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tokyo?

+

Tokyo is less a city than a stack of neighborhoods with completely different opening hours. A guided food crawl through Shinjuku's Omoide Yokocho gets you past the no-tourist curtains, while the day trips west to Hakone and Fuji need an early start to be worth the fare. Our ranking weighs guide quality heavily here, because in Tokyo the guide is the product. On Outty we rank every Tokyo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tokyo Shinjuku Chopsticks Making Class, Tokyo : Asakusa Chopsticks Making Class, Shinjuku Night Food and Bar Crawl. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tokyo?

+

Late March to May for blossom, October to November for clear Fuji views. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tokyo?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
