Airport transfer with sightseeing along the way - HIGHLY RECOMMEND

These guys were so easy to work with. We had arrived on a cruise ship late one day and had to fly out the next morning - so we wanted a quick driving tour of Tokyo on our way to the airport. We weren't looking for a tour guide (our driver was not a guide, and spoke limited English, although his English was better than our Japanese!), just a terrific driver. These guys delivered! We only had about 4-1/2 hours, and we got to see the Tokyo Tower (main deck views), the Imperial Palace garden and some gates (we hadn't booked ahead and didn't have a lot of time so didn't go in), Shibuya crossing, Senso-ji temple, and the new watershow at Odaiba. Loved it! We had several questions about logistics and about sites to see, and they were always super responsive and helpful. Amazing! Highly recommend.

Response from the operator: We’re so glad you were happy with our service! Your kind words will be shared with the driver, who will also receive a reward for the great feedback. We’ll continue doing our best—thank you!

Good Option for cruise ship tour/transfer

Over all we had a good experience but a few things went wrong, so keep this in mind. We booked the 5 hour tour/transfer with drop off at two different airports. The problem started because Pick-U Tokyo doesn't offer on their website drop down menu, the Tokyo International Cruise Terminal, so they don't have a fixed address for it. Emails clarified this and I was assured that pickup there could be arranged, but we still had pick-up issues. We provided the Toyoko International Cruise Terminal address but could not find our driver. We suspected because there is a private car pick up area and our driver's license plate was not listed by the officials there. Language problems with the Pier Staff complicated the issue as they provided me with the wrong information, which I then provided to the driver and it took several WhatsApp messages to straighten out the problem. But we finally connected and were pick-up. I received a message from the company that usually there would be an extra charge due to the 20" used to correct issues - I didn't appreciate this because I had booked for 5 hours, so it should not be an issue, how we spent the 5 hours. They did not charge any extra money for the confusion. When you book the 5 hour tour/transfer you are provided a choice of sights to see. Not communicated is how long you can stay at the sights and the driver had very limited English, using Google Translates to help. Make sure you know how long you have for touring and how much time should be left for the airport transfer. We had requested a photo opp at the Imperial Palace and a visit to the gardens. The garden visit was lost in translation, so we did not get to visit it, but the driver took us to Tokyo Tower unstead. I would recommend, just sticking with their suggested three areas to visit rather than make your own itinerary. And be sure to understand your timing at each site. After seeing the sights the driver suggested the transfer times, thus we used the driver's guidelines for the transfer part of the trip. It broke down to - 2.5 hours for touring and 2.5 hours for the transfer from city center to two airport. We ran into terrible traffic getting to the airports (even on a Sunday) thus our transfer time was over by 29 minutes thus we were penalized another 5,000 yen (about $32). Be sure to keep in mind that any overage of time is your responsibility and you will pay for it. While our driver barely spoke a word of English, he was courteous and helpful. The car was exceptionally comfortable and clean. Using WhatsApp gives you direct access to both the driver and the company, should things go wrong as they did for us, yet we always had a way to communicate. This was reassuring. While the 5 hour tour/transfer service seems rather expensive, it is inline with what Regent Cruises would charge for a bus transfer with city tour for two people. (minus the additional charge for the 29 minutes we were penalized, which made it more expensive) We were certainly more comfortable in our van with private driver, then being loaded on a bus, thus this could be a good option. Overall recommended, but with the above considerations.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your detailed feedback. Regarding the pickup confusion, our driver went to two different cruise terminals because two different port locations were provided. This caused the delay, but we are glad we were able to connect in the end and did not charge the additional adjustment time. Please kindly note that our drivers are not licensed tour guides under Japanese regulations, so they are unable to provide detailed sightseeing explanations. We truly appreciate your understanding and are happy to hear you found the vehicle comfortable and the service reassuring overall. Thank you again for choosing us.

Cruise port transfer with added Tokyo hours.

Driver was on time. He had great communication in finding us at the cruise ship terminal. We wanted to do some shopping at a mall. He first took us to a coffee shop as the malls were not open yet. It was a wonderful experience. He then took to the mall and then to Haneda Airport. A wonderful and caring driver.

Response from the operator: We’re so glad you were happy with our service! Your kind words will be shared with the driver, who will also receive a reward for the great feedback. We’ll continue doing our best—thank you!

Tokyo 5-Hour Private Charter with NRT/HND Airport Transfer: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tokyo.

How much does Tokyo 5-Hour Private Charter with NRT/HND Airport Transfer cost?

+

Prices start at $42800 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tokyo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Tokyo 5-Hour Private Charter with NRT/HND Airport Transfer take?

+

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tokyo is not rushed.

Is Tokyo 5-Hour Private Charter with NRT/HND Airport Transfer worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tokyo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Tokyo 5-Hour Private Charter with NRT/HND Airport Transfer?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Tokyo 5-Hour Private Charter with NRT/HND Airport Transfer suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Tokyo 5-Hour Private Charter with NRT/HND Airport Transfer?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tokyo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tokyo and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Tokyo 5-Hour Private Charter with NRT/HND Airport Transfer start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tokyo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tokyo?

+

Tokyo is less a city than a stack of neighborhoods with completely different opening hours. A guided food crawl through Shinjuku's Omoide Yokocho gets you past the no-tourist curtains, while the day trips west to Hakone and Fuji need an early start to be worth the fare. Our ranking weighs guide quality heavily here, because in Tokyo the guide is the product. On Outty we rank every Tokyo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tokyo Shinjuku Chopsticks Making Class, Tokyo : Asakusa Chopsticks Making Class, Shinjuku Night Food and Bar Crawl. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tokyo?

+

Late March to May for blossom, October to November for clear Fuji views. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tokyo?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
