A great experience to...
A great experience to explore parts of Beijing I never would have found myself! There was interesting food, a variety of tiny bars with a lot of character, and plenty of moments that made the night memorable. They handle the food and drink purchases at all the stops so I didn’t have to worry about anything. Lin was an excellent guide through the hutongs. She was very knowledgeable, sociable, and fun to hang out with! Thanks so much Lin!

They no showed, no contact, no cancellation
I booked and they did not show up. I stood outside for 30 minutes in the freezing cold. My one day in Beijing, was so excited! Now I guess back to the hotel for bad food.
Response from the operator: Dear Mr. Willis, Hello, my name is Flower, the project manager of TipsyTravel. I would like to once again sincerely apologize for the unpleasant experience you had with our tour booking. We hope that you have returned safely to the EU. As I mentioned in our text messages, unfortunately neither my partner nor I received the booking confirmation email—I have attached proof of this in our previous correspondence. We only became aware of your booking when my partner saw your message around 6:20 PM informing us that you would be 10 minutes late. She notified me immediately, but by then it was too late to accommodate you, and we deeply regret the inconvenience this caused. I also tried to reach you using the contact number provided, but it appears the correct number was different, which further prevented us from resolving the situation in real time. We sincerely regret the series of coincidences that led to this situation: your last-minute booking, our not receiving the confirmation email, the delayed awareness of your reservation, and the fact that it was your final night in Beijing. We truly wanted to make things right, but we understand you had already returned to your hotel, understandably upset. We hope this experience did not negatively affect your overall trip or mood during your travels. To prevent this from happening again, we will follow up with Viator to determine why the booking confirmation was not delivered and ensure improved processes moving forward. Thank you for choosing TipsyTravel. If you ever return to China, we would be honored to have another opportunity to welcome you—and would gladly offer a special discount to make up for this disappointing experience. Wishing you all the best, Flower Project Manager, TipsyTravel

A fun night exploring with Flower
Flower was the best! She had the whole night set up, we had great food and drinks. We got to explore areas that, as a foreigner, we’d never experience.

Best night in Beijing.
Tina was AWESOME! We were hesitant to book the tour due to it only having one review but our group was so happy we went through with it. The tour started off with a great dinner at a hole in the wall dumpling house. We were then led to several bars and cocktail lounges that we would have never found alone down hidden hutongs. Each spot that was introduced was better than the last! Best night that we had in Beijing! Thank you so much Tina!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for choosing us, Lee. It's our pleasure to spend such a fun time with you guys, too! you are always welcome back, returning customers like yourself and your friend have a special discount:)

Why this scores 52
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Tipsy Travel: Beijing Local Food and Bar Crawl night in Hutong: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Beijing.
How much does Tipsy Travel: Beijing Local Food and Bar Crawl night in Hutong cost?
+
Prices start at $138 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Beijing usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Tipsy Travel: Beijing Local Food and Bar Crawl night in Hutong take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Beijing is not rushed.
Is Tipsy Travel: Beijing Local Food and Bar Crawl night in Hutong worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Beijing, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Tipsy Travel: Beijing Local Food and Bar Crawl night in Hutong?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Tipsy Travel: Beijing Local Food and Bar Crawl night in Hutong suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Tipsy Travel: Beijing Local Food and Bar Crawl night in Hutong?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Beijing can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Beijing and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Tipsy Travel: Beijing Local Food and Bar Crawl night in Hutong start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Beijing within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Beijing?
+
On Outty we rank every Beijing experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mubus: Mutianyu Great Wall Bus Tour with Summer Palace Options, Beijing: Top 6 Highlights All Inclusive 2-Day Private Tour, Private Mutianyu Great Wall Trip With English-Speaking Driver. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Beijing?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Beijing?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
