Expensive, but it works if you need a last minute ticket

Beautiful museum that is worth the visit if you have even a small interest in Frida or Diego. I booked via TripAdvisor because my trip to CDMX was last minute and I wasn’t able to book tickets through the museum site weeks in advance. I paid about $50 USD for my 1 entry ticket, which is light extortion, but if you’re desperate to go and too late to get tickets any other way, this works. I was a little concerned about the ticket download not working based on other TripAdvisor reviews, and it was a little confusing at the entrance to find the correct barcode/QR code to scan. The staff didn’t scan it after all; just commented that mine looked unusual but let me in anyway. Overall, I’m happy it worked and I got to see the museum given the limited availability. If you’re in a pinch, this is your ticket in.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re glad to hear that you were able to visit the Frida Kahlo Museum, especially considering how limited ticket availability can be when planning a last-minute trip to Mexico City. We understand your comment about the price, and we appreciate your honesty. As an external provider, our service is not only the management and delivery of the ticket, but also helping guests secure access when museum availability is limited. We would also like to mention that, as part of our service, we provide our own digital audio guide inside the museum, which is an added benefit created by Friends Guides to help visitors better understand Frida Kahlo’s life, her home, and the meaning behind the experience. This is a special plus that not every provider offers. Thank you for choosing Friends Guides. We’re happy everything worked out and that you were able to enjoy such an important museum in Mexico City.

Ticket to Frida Kahlo Museum on CDMX + Audio Guide: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mexico City.

How much does Ticket to Frida Kahlo Museum on CDMX + Audio Guide cost?

+

Prices start at $34 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mexico City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Ticket to Frida Kahlo Museum on CDMX + Audio Guide take?

+

Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mexico City is not rushed.

Is Ticket to Frida Kahlo Museum on CDMX + Audio Guide worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 115 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Mexico City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Ticket to Frida Kahlo Museum on CDMX + Audio Guide?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Ticket to Frida Kahlo Museum on CDMX + Audio Guide suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Ticket to Frida Kahlo Museum on CDMX + Audio Guide?

+

Around 40 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mexico City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mexico City and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Ticket to Frida Kahlo Museum on CDMX + Audio Guide start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mexico City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Mexico City?

+

On Outty we rank every Mexico City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Frida Kahlo VIP [Museum Tickets Included] Walk, Markets & Churros, Local Foodie Adventure CDMX: Tacos & more with Sherpa Food Tours, Mexico City Historical Centre Food Tour with 7 Tastings & Drinks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Mexico City?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Mexico City?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
