    Perfect!

We had a lovely afternoon visit to Tiananmen Square. There was no need for an early‑morning wake‑up, which was really convenient. The square is enormous and truly breathtaking. We walked around at a relaxed pace, admiring Tiananmen Gate, the Monument to the People’s Heroes and other historic landmarks. The security process was efficient and well‑managed, and the whole area felt safe and orderly. We stayed until late afternoon and watched the flag‑lowering ceremony, which was solemn and touching. This is an unmissable experience for anyone coming to Beijing.

Response from the operator: Dear Alicia, Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback on your afternoon tour of Tiananmen Square! We are delighted to hear you enjoyed the relaxed afternoon schedule without an early‑morning start, and that you were impressed by the grand square, historic landmarks and the solemn flag‑lowering ceremony. It means a lot to us that you felt safe during your visit. Witnessing the flag‑lowering ceremony is indeed a memorable highlight in Beijing. We sincerely hope you will enjoy the rest of your trip in China. Looking forward to welcoming you again in the future! Best regards, LIly's tour guide

    A fantastic travel experience

We had a wonderful experience with this Tiananmen Square reservation service. The booking process online was straightforward. There is no tour guide included with this service, so we explored the site entirely on our own, which suited our travel style perfectly. We arrived at the scheduled time, followed the entry instructions provided, and went through security check without any delays or complications. Thanks to this reservation service, we avoided the stress and complexity of arranging the booking by ourselves. We were able to take our time walking around Tiananmen Square, admire the grand architecture, and soak in the special historical atmosphere at our own pace. Everything worked exactly as promised. We are really satisfied and would happily recommend this service to other visitors coming to Beijing.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! We are glad to hear you had a great self‑guided visit to Tiananmen Square. It pleases us that our reservation service helped you skip the hassle of complicated self‑booking procedures and enjoy the grand historical site at your own pace. Wish you a pleasant rest of your trip in Beijing! We look forward to serving you again in the future.

    Disappointed

The security chevk yook two hours and then it wasnt cleat how to get tonthe square so we ended up walking in the Temple Palace and unable to enter the square. We were not able tonget to the square.

Response from the operator: We are truly sorry to hear you could not access Tiananmen Square and encountered such a frustrating experience. During the summer vacation, visitor volumes are extremely high, leading to lengthy security check queues, which are out of our control. We advise visitors to fully prepare for long waiting times. Visiting in the evening will significantly reduce crowds. The summer holiday will end in around 10 days, and queues will become much shorter afterwards. We appreciate your honest feedback and will keep reminding future guests about this peak-season situation.

Very convenient enrollment for the square visit

This worked perfectly! Sent my info and got a confirmation of the registration a few days before my visit. I don't have WeChat so this was a very convenient way of getting enrolled to visit the square. Take the screenshot with you alongside your passport, I needed both. Went on a Tuesday at 6:50 AM, security line was minimal (1-2 min). Recommend booking the palace museum for the same day, it's easy to go there directly from the square!

Response from the operator: Thanks a lot for your lovely review! Glad our service was super convenient without WeChat and you got your confirmation ahead of your trip. Your travel tips are really helpful for future visitors! Wish you a lovely rest of your journey!

Tiananmen Square Entry Reservation Ticket: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Beijing.

How much does Tiananmen Square Entry Reservation Ticket cost?

    +

Prices start at $4 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Beijing usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Tiananmen Square Entry Reservation Ticket take?

    +

Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Beijing is not rushed.

Is Tiananmen Square Entry Reservation Ticket worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 103 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Beijing, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Tiananmen Square Entry Reservation Ticket?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Tiananmen Square Entry Reservation Ticket suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Tiananmen Square Entry Reservation Ticket?

    +

Around 36 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Beijing can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Beijing and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Tiananmen Square Entry Reservation Ticket start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Beijing within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Beijing?

    +

On Outty we rank every Beijing experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mubus: Mutianyu Great Wall Bus Tour with Summer Palace Options, Beijing: Top 6 Highlights All Inclusive 2-Day Private Tour, Private Mutianyu Great Wall Trip With English-Speaking Driver. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Beijing?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Beijing?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
