What you'll see and do
Belize City
After pick up you will be driving through the City of Belize making your way to the western highway to get to the cave branch National Park. Once here you will get to use the rest/changing room. Thereafter you will be issued your equipment for the tour which is a tube, helmet with headlights, and a life jacket. The tour gets started with a 30-minute walk through the well-kept trail through the rainforest to the entrance of the cave system. Here you get ready with your equipment with the assistance of your tour guide for the cave tubing tour through a natural underground river fed by pure spring water for about 40 minutes. Accompanied by your guide you continue down the open river tubing for another 20 mins to get to the starting point to finish this amazing tour. You will then make your way back to the parking lot to change into dry clothing and then make your way back to Belize City

Disorganized and poor communication
Ended up cancelling completely. We booked via Caribbean Tourbase, which contracts with local outfitters, and we received poor service on both ends. We booked a tour in Belize and received an automated confirmation the same day. Three days prior to the tour, we received a reminder email, which included the pick-up time at our hotel. After waiting 20-30 minutes past the pick-up time with no one showing up, we called the phone number for the local tour company listed in the confirmation email (A Plus Adventures). We tried multiple times to contact them, with the number only ringing and no one answering, or ringing and then hanging up immediately. Then we tried to contact Caribbean Tourbase, and only got an automated message stating "Thank you for your message. We're unavailable right now." They finally texted back later referring me to call the number for A Plus Adventures (which we had already been tried, with no answer). An hour after the designated pick-up time, someone from A Plus Adventures called our hotel stating that the tour had been canceled, but no one had given us advance notice. They offered another time, which was not compatible with our schedule. Really poor service and terrible communication, would not recommend.

Unfortunately, we never get to provide you with our amazing service, but we hope that the rest of your vacation here in our beautiful country went well without any other glitches

Best excursion in Belize
This excursion is AMAZING! I highly recommend! The drive there is quite long(over an hour) but it was totally worth every penny. Our guide Albert was very helpful and personable. He was very knowledgeable and explained how everything would go. The walk through the jungle was great, but if you have anyone in your party that has trouble doing strenuous exercises this is not the excursion for them. My sister in law couldn’t do the walk so she had to stay behind but Albert made sure she was comfortable while she waited for us. Once at the spot to get in the water it was breathtaking. All gear is provided including helmet and life vests, water shoes are required. Your whole party is linked together while you float down, there was a second guide to help steer all tubes in the right direction. The caves were so very cool and it was a relaxing ride. I give this excursion 10/10.

SO FUN!!!!
Cave Tubing with A plus and Albert. Absolutely perfect! We got off the water taxi and followed the directions on our reservation (make sure you have them printed). Everyone in the terminal was very helpful and we found our driver in no time. While everyone else was fighting with 100 other people to get on huge charter buses, we hopped in a very clean, air conditioned mini van. Just the 3 of us and our driver. It was a little over an hour drive to the rafting location and Albert used the time wisely informing us on everything Belize! It was a very enjoyable ride. Upon arrival at the rafting location, we changed into our water shoes and Albert introduced us to our guide-Artemis. Artemis got us all set up with tubes, helmets, and life jackets. We then walked about 30min to the start of the cave tubing. Definitely not recommended to anyone with trouble walking. Artemis showed us various plants, trees, and animals throughout our walk. Once again it was only the 3 of us! All the other groups had 10-15 people. We saw and heard groups of howler monkeys in the trees-very cool! The water was so refreshing! (To my husband that means COLD! Haha!) it felt SO good! It was 99 degrees out and we were definitely ready to jump in when we arrived! Artemis tied all our tubes together and off we went! It was so relaxing and we just love caves - this really was the perfect excursion for us. It is definitely worth the hour drive and the 30 min walk! Our excursion began at 9am (ship time) and we returned to the port about 1:30pm. Grabbed some lunch at the pier (fish tacos-very good!), some local beers, and then shopped for a bit before returning to the ship. No one else in our party did an excursion here, and they completely regretted it. The port area is pretty pathetic. So if you are headed here-book this excursion!

Viator. Never again.
The most memorable is neither my DIL or I received a response to messages and phone calls regarding a mix up in pick up sites. So we not only did not have a trip at all, but are out $$$ and got a rude, day late response from the tour operator. Never gonna use Viator again and will encourage my friend to do the same.
Response from the operator: We are sorry and understand your frustration but here are the facts. This cave tubing tour from Belize City was booked almost a month before the date of the tour. For pick up location on the booking it said we will tell you later. At no time between the time of booking and the day of the tour was there any indication that the guest would be coming on the Norwegian Breakaway cruise ship and would be docking at Harvest Caye. If we had known this very important information before their arrival, they would have been told that this tour was not possible. Unfortunately, it was on the day of the tour that we became aware of the location for pickup. We have already made all arrangements for your tour assuming that you will be at the Tourism Village in Belize City. Harvest Caye is a docking port for the Norwegian Cruise Line in Belize located far south of Belize City. This situation could have been avoided by us receiving the appropriate pickup location. Our apologies if our response to your message on the day of the activity appears rude. It was never meant to be offensive. We gravitate towards providing the best customer service to all our clients.

Highly recommend going through this company
Albert was great!! Drove us to the cave tubing area and explained the Belize culture and about the different people the live in Belize. He made us feel comfortable and made sure we were where we needed to be on time!! I highly recommend him and the cave tubing experience!!
