    Incredible Day

After disembarking from our cruise ship in Athens, we were greeted by our driver, Christos, who was waiting for us exactly as promised. From the moment we met, it was clear we were in excellent hands. What followed was one of the most memorable days of our trip to Greece. The tour was a perfect blend of ancient history, breathtaking scenery, local culture, shopping, and a wonderful lunch. Every stop was thoughtfully planned and never felt rushed, allowing us to truly appreciate the beauty and significance of each location. The highlights of the day were undoubtedly Thermopylae and Delphi. Standing where history was made and exploring one of the most important archaeological sites in the ancient world was an unforgettable experience. What truly set this tour apart, however, was our driver. His knowledge of Greek history, mythology, and archaeology was exceptional. My father, who spent years teaching history, was thoroughly impressed by the depth and accuracy of his knowledge—a compliment that is not given lightly. Throughout the journey, he shared fascinating stories and historical insights that brought each site to life, transforming the drive between destinations into an experience just as enjoyable as the stops themselves. The day concluded with Christos delivering us directly to our Airbnb in Athens, making the entire experience seamless from beginning to end. If you have any interest in ancient Greece, classical history, mythology, or simply want to experience some of the most spectacular scenery the country has to offer, I cannot recommend this tour highly enough. It exceeded every expectation and was truly one of the highlights of our visit to Greece. Without hesitation, I give this tour five stars.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your outstanding review! We are truly delighted to hear that your tour exceeded your expectations and became one of the highlights of your visit to Greece. It is especially rewarding to know that Christos' knowledge, professionalism, and passion for Greek history, mythology, and archaeology made such a lasting impression on you and your family. We are honored that even your father, with his background in teaching history, appreciated the depth and accuracy of Christos' explanations. Comments like yours are the greatest recognition of our commitment to providing meaningful and memorable experiences. Thank you for your wonderful recommendation and for choosing to explore Greece with us. We sincerely hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable journey in the future! Wonderful way to experience Ancient Greek history.

My wife and two school-age daughters enjoyed this tour to Delphi. The Temple of Apollo was an awe-inspiring location to visit. Our guide, Theodore, enriched our experience with sharing stories about the bravery of Leonidas and the Sparta as well as the role of Oracle (Pythia) of Delphi, the center of the world determined by the two eagles that Zeus had released. The climb to see the ancient stadium at the top is a bit of a workout but manageable with brief breaks along the way to take some pictures.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review! We are delighted to hear that you and your family enjoyed your visit to Delphi. It is especially rewarding to know that Theodore's storytelling and knowledge of Greek history helped bring the ancient world to life and made your experience even more memorable. We are pleased that you enjoyed exploring the Temple of Apollo and reaching the ancient stadium, and we appreciate your helpful advice for future travelers. Thank you for your kind words, and we hope to welcome you and your family back to Greece again soon! Kind regards, Yomadic Tours Agency

Awesome day at Delphi and Thermopylae!

Our driver, Chris, was amazing. We had a long drive, and he spent the time filling in background on the mythology and stories involving the Oracle of Delphi, and how critical it was as the "center of the world". It prepared and got us excited to visit the museum and fill in the background of the history of Delphi before we climbed all the way to the stadium. So worth it to climb to the top. Next, Chris got us a premium seat with an amazing view for lunch before we headed to Thermopylae to dip in the natural hot spring and get a detailed story of the Spartan 300 battle. Chris was so informative and a great driver, host, and general guide throughout the day. It went by seamlessly, and was so enjoyable. I can't recommend Chris enough!

Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review! We are delighted to hear that Chris made your journey to Delphi and Thermopylae so memorable. His passion for Greek history and mythology, along with his professionalism and hospitality, is exactly what we strive to offer every guest. It is wonderful to know that you enjoyed every part of the day, from the fascinating stories and breathtaking sites to the lunch with a spectacular view. We truly appreciate your recommendation and will be sure to share your kind words with Chris. Kind regards Yomadic Tours Agency

Wow what a great tour and guide

I just want to say thank you to Nikos what a fantastic human being, guide and driver. He was kind, knowledgeable, courteous and couldnt do more for us. For those who love the 300 want to see it all and do so in the comfort I highly recommend. Miss the crowds and do this in a small group in spacious air conditioned Mercedes-Benz. And eat where he recommends you wont be sorry.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review! We are delighted to hear that Nikos made your experience so memorable with his kindness, knowledge, and professionalism. It means a lot to know that you enjoyed the comfort of the small-group tour and appreciated his recommendations along the way. We will be sure to share your kind words with Nikos. Thermopylae The battle of the 300 Spartans & Delphi Day Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.

How much does Thermopylae The battle of the 300 Spartans & Delphi Day Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $100 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Thermopylae The battle of the 300 Spartans & Delphi Day Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 9.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.

Is Thermopylae The battle of the 300 Spartans & Delphi Day Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 85 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 103 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Thermopylae The battle of the 300 Spartans & Delphi Day Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Thermopylae The battle of the 300 Spartans & Delphi Day Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Thermopylae The battle of the 300 Spartans & Delphi Day Tour?

    +

Around 36 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 9.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Thermopylae The battle of the 300 Spartans & Delphi Day Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Athens?

    +

On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Athens?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Athens?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
