About this experience
We go to the names that matter. Chocolate & Co., The Chocolate Project and Rogers' Chocolates are the three chocolate shops Victorians actually send visitors to, and Crust Bakery and The Dutch Bakery are the two bakeries locals queue at themselves. Most tours pick one or two of these. We do all five. Then there are the things you won't see coming: a savory chocolate sample that will change how you think about the ingredient, a thick and decadent drinking chocolate, and our own famous Nanaimo bar sampled inside one of the oldest brick buildings in Victoria. Every stop is an independently owned local business, and we've been walking these blocks longer than any other food tour company in Victoria. That's why the makers know us by name, and why you'll hear the stories that never made it onto the heritage plaques.

Perfect tastes
I called to book the trip when my wife and I were going to be in town, and I was informed they don't do this tour during the summer. I said "bummer!" and the owner immediately said "let me see what I can do" and I was booked after she contacted the person doing the tour to see if he would do it. It worked out so well, 2 other couples were able to book and 6 was the perfect number. Our tour guide was fun, funny, and very knowledgeable. The tastings were phenomenal and portions were extra! I would do it again in a heartbeat!
Response from the operator: Thank you! That tour normally takes the summer off, so we are glad we could make it work, and even more glad it filled out to six, which really is the perfect number for it. Thank you for such a lovely review of the whole experience.

Chocolate lovers assemble!
Erik was a fantastic tour guide who showed us around the best spots! He added so much local information about cool landmarks and tidbits about the businesses. The drinking chocolate and the molé tacos were a highlight!
Response from the operator: Chocolate lovers, we hear you — and the drinking chocolate and molé tacos are absolutely highlight-worthy! Erik loves sharing the local stories behind every stop, and we're so glad those tidbits added to the experience. Hope to see you back for more!

Fun, delicious and informative afternoon tour!
We had such a great time with Brenda today! I went with a friend and we both found Brenda to be fun and so knowledgeable. We are locals but still learned so much! All of the places we hit were fantastic. I was gifted this by a friend-what a thoughtful and wonderful gift for visitors or locals! I would highly recommend this tour.

So fun and SO much chocolate!!
This tour was so fun! It was intimate which allowed to hear everything and not feel rushed or like you were standing around. Our tour guide answered ALL our questions and was very knowledgeable about each stop and Victoria in general. Tour guide picked out a few of our tasting items while we got to pick at some stops as well. 7 stops in total and all we're fantastic! Would reccommend to someone visiting as something fun to do or someone local even- wonderful first date idea! So much to spark conversation and learn in the process.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this thoughtful review! We’re thrilled you enjoyed the intimate, unrushed pace of the tour. It's exactly the experience we aim to create so guests can truly soak it all in. It’s great to hear your guide helped bring each stop and Victoria’s story to life. We couldn’t agree more, it really is a fantastic first date idea… and honestly, it might be even better for a second date 😉 Hope to see you again soon!

The Victoria Chocolate & Bakery Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Vancouver Island.
How much does The Victoria Chocolate & Bakery Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $85 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Vancouver Island usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does The Victoria Chocolate & Bakery Tour take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Vancouver Island is not rushed.
Is The Victoria Chocolate & Bakery Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 25 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Vancouver Island, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule The Victoria Chocolate & Bakery Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is The Victoria Chocolate & Bakery Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 3. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 2-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book The Victoria Chocolate & Bakery Tour?
+
Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Vancouver Island can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Vancouver Island and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does The Victoria Chocolate & Bakery Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Vancouver Island within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Vancouver Island?
+
On Outty we rank every Vancouver Island experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Whistler Tour from Vancouver + Sea to Sky Gondola + Shannon Falls, Victoria Guided Food and History Tour, Victoria Whale and Wildlife Cruise. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Vancouver Island?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Vancouver Island?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
