Best food tour we’ve done in NYC

This Queens food tour blew us away. The food was incredible, specific dishes you won’t find anywhere else in the city. Greg clearly loves this neighborhood and what he does. Every stop came with a story, plus tip after tip on where to come back to and what to order. Fun, delicious, and we actually learned a ton. Can’t recommend it enough.

    Local expert; world class tour

Greg was an incredible guide and made our Queens food tour one of the highlights of our trip. As a local, his knowledge of the neighborhood, its history, and its incredible food scene was unmatched. What really stood out wasn’t just the delicious food—it was the stories behind each stop. We loved learning about the diverse cultures represented by the vendors and hearing how many of these small businesses, especially the street vendors, have built their livelihoods and become such an important part of the community. Greg was flexible, friendly, and genuinely passionate about sharing Queens with us. You could tell he has deep relationships with the local vendors, which made the experience feel authentic and personal. If you’re looking for more than just a food tour—something that gives you a true appreciation for the people, culture, and history behind the food—I can’t recommend Greg highly enough. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish!

    Amazing experience!

My partner and I had a wonderful afternoon touring Jackson Heights with Greg. We stopped at 6 food trucks, learning about the history of Queens and about the vendors along the way. Greg was super fun, knowledgeable, and a bit of a celebrity in Queens. This tour was one of our favorite things we did while in NYC!

5 Stars — The Ultimate Jackson Heights Food Tour

We picked one of the hottest days of the year to do this tour, and it was worth every drop of sweat. This was a well-planned and thoughtful tour from start to finish — our guide Greg took us deep into Jackson Heights, one of the most culturally rich neighborhoods in NYC, and gave us history on the food, the vendors, and the borough at every stop. Highlights: Tibetan momos that were soft and perfectly steamed, Pakistani halal chicken over rice that was the best I've ever had, and a Colombian buñuelo with soursop filling that was pure delight. The Bangladeshi fuchki with tamarind sauce from Tong — the first fuchki truck in America — was a flavor explosion, paired with hot cha that hit just right on a scorching day. The Mexican cemita was stacked and incredible. We wrapped things up with alfajores at a cozy Uruguayan café covered wall-to-wall in soccer jerseys — the perfect sweet ending. As a born-and-raised Brooklyn girl, I didn't expect to fall in love with Queens the way I did. Greg's knowledge and passion made every bite feel like a story, and the pacing and stops felt genuinely well thought out. Highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to actually taste a neighborhood, not just walk through it. Already planning to book another one with Greg in a different neighborhood!

Great tour and food in Jackson Heights! Highly recommend!

The tour guide, Greg, was FANTASTIC, friendly, informative, not too much talk, just the right amount of interesting info about the food, the trucks, the neighborhood, etc. He did not treat us like generic guests. He added a personal touch and took a genuine interest in his visitors. It's like having a mellow, good friend take you around—his enthusiasm for the neighborhood and the food are also genuine and contagious. We plan to book another tour with him in a different neighborhood. Thanks so much.

The Ultimate New York City Street Food Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Queens.

How much does The Ultimate New York City Street Food Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $75 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Queens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does The Ultimate New York City Street Food Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Queens is not rushed.

Is The Ultimate New York City Street Food Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 84 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 54 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Queens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule The Ultimate New York City Street Food Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is The Ultimate New York City Street Food Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book The Ultimate New York City Street Food Tour?

    +

Around 19 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Queens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Queens and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does The Ultimate New York City Street Food Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Queens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Queens?

    +

On Outty we rank every Queens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include New York: LGA Airport Private Transfer to/from Manhattan|Brooklyn, LGA to Manhattan One Way Shared Arrival Transfer, Luxury SUV Airport Transfer | JFK, LGA & EWR | 24/7 Chauffeur. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Queens?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Queens?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
