I already did
This trip did not take place. It had been canceled, but we were not informed.
Response from the operator: So sorry that Viator did not communicate this. Our guide had a medical emergency. We tried to accommodate with a walking brochure and lots of personalized information.

So-So Tour
There are a lot of numbered stops on this walking tour. I was interested in only a few. My favs were: -The steam engine exhibit on the spot where Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday shot and killed Frank Stillwell (March 20, 1882). -The Presidio compound (where the tour begins). -The old Pima County Historic Courthouse Some of the sites were not interesting at all, however The Turquoise Trail does lead you around many establishments whose owners would love you to stop.
Response from the operator: The Turquoise Trail provides a walk that covers a lot of architectural gems and local history but it also covers more modern areas in the heart of downtown. We're glad you enjoyed certain stops.

Mauro, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable. We got to see lots of historic places in downtown Tucson and hear some very interesting history. I highly recommend this tour to both locals and visitors.

Do on Your Own and Learn a Little, Do With Guide & Learn Much More
Follow the Turquoise Trail in a self-guided or tour-guided way. You can get the self-guided informational pamphlet at the Presidio or at the Visitor Center (inside the Pima County Courthouse) or find a pdf version on-line. Follow a painted turquoise line for about 2.5 miles. I did both ways, first on my own, and then with Mauro, an amazing Presidio tour guide. I have to say I got so much more out of it when I listened to Mauro’s various stories, putting things in context, and answering the numerous questions of the folks on the tour. If you do it on your own, you may consider stopping for a meal or drink halfway through to give your legs a breather before continuing. The guided tour doesn’t offer any kind of breaks (bathroom, drink or food) and can feel a tad long but very worthwhile. Highly recommended but beware of folks offering this or similar tours who are not with the Presidio, some of them don’t really know what they are talking about, they are merely trying to copy what the Presidio offers but they don’t have the complete picture and have difficulties answering more complex questions. The Turquoise Trail Tour is not just about the historical Barrio Viejo of Tucson but covers a mixture of older and newer parts of its history. They also offer the Barrio Viejo Tour for people interested in just that. Start time may vary based on how hot it is that day. They start earlier during the hot season, later during the colder season. The tour is scheduled to last 2.5 hours but it’s nearly impossible to do the whole thing in that time – there are so many stories to tell that it takes longer than planned. Some review speak of seeing homeless people when walking around town. I didn’t see any when I did my tour, perhaps that has been cleaned up a bit. However, it wouldn’t detract from the history of Tucson, it’s actually part of any city’s history, the ups and downs of its growth and cultural changes. Highly recommended. Thank you, Mauro and the Presidio
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful and detailed review! We're so glad you enjoyed your experience with the Turquoise Trail. Mauro is a wonderful historian. We're proud to offer carefully researched and honest versions of the city's history on our tours at the Tucson Presidio Museum. We appreciate your feedback about the tour length and lack of breaks. We also have a shortened version of the Turquoise Trail tour available for those interested. Thank you again for your recommendation, and for your interest and respect for Tucson's great history and people. Best wishes, and we hope to see you again!

Surprisingly Great History Museum
We were in town for a concert and wanted to learn more about Tucson. Our hotel gave us a copy of "The Turquoise Trail" map for a historical walking tour of downtown Tucson - and this museum was stop #1 on the trail. We weren't sure what to expect and the museum looks very unassuming (and tiny) when you first walk in - but don't be fooled. We were given an amazing individual tour by our guide, Cindy, that was both informative and entertaining. We were also very surprised to walk thru a door to a courtyard that was a recreation of part of the fort that was originally on the site. We hadn't expected anything on that scale and were really blown away. This is a definite must see for anyone interested in history or the origins of Tucson. Great museum and lovely people.
Response from the operator: We’re so glad you enjoyed your visit to the Presidio Museum! Please tell others or bring them with you the next time you come!

+

How many days do you need in Tucson?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
