What you get

    About this experience

The "Origins" itineraries offer the opportunity to show you and discover the most fascinating places of Naples history: an over two thousand years story that begins with the legend of a mermaid, Parthenope, who abandoned herself into the waves to ship where Castel dell'Ovo rises. The castle is also known for keeping the egg (uovo in Italian) that, thanks to the wizard Virgilius, decides about the destiny of the city. From the seafront we will move to visit one of the symbol of Naples: the New Castle, well-known under the name of Maschio Angioino, a wonderful Castle that overview the Gulf and then we will go on having a look to the San Carlo Theatre, the most ancient theatre of Europe and finish the first part of our tour in Plebishito's square, where the Royal palace is located and we could admire the statues of the most important king of Naples telling about their stories.

Short and great trip for your charm and companionship

the city of Naples chaotic, here lies its charm. Streetwalking and strolling along its streets is the best thing to know. The Amalfi Coast very nice, although we did not visit all of it

One of the oldest vestiges of Naples.

A visit to this imposing and majestic Fortress is an unmissable visit, especially if you are in such a wonderful city. My experience was phenomenal as I was lucky enough to stay in one of the best areas of Naples Chiaia. This location allowed me to make the walking tour and enjoy the visit very calmly and carefully. It is a Fortress dating back to 1128, is a defensive element, jail, Royal Residence, and currently, is an event and exhibition center. His story of his name is derived from a legend, which narrates that one day Virgil, hid an egg under the foundations, of the Fortress and that if it were to break, the city would suffer a huge catastrophe, from this story the name of this Beautiful Fortification is born, My entrance was very easy, when I arrived at the entrance gate were in charge of the Museum and guided me with the entrance, this was completely free , if they explained to me that there is a space where there are vestiges of cultural and historical interest that if you have to pay your entrance, this area is at the bottom, but the price was very affordable. It was a unique visit, where the hike does not require much physical effort, it is very safe and the views of the Amalfi Coast and Positano, as well as the imposing Volcano Vesuvius as a backdrop from its Terraces.

    scam

another scam; soon you'll have to speak Chinese to get in; we've seen nothing beautiful; there's better a naples

Response from the operator: We're sorry you couldn't see anything. Can you delete the review please. The negative review did not come to Castel dell'Ovo, but to us at Destination Campani Travel. We didn't do a French tour with you. Thanks to availability Best regards

    Mr. DARIO excellent guide.

Mr. Dario was able to keep the attention alive throughout the visit. A cultured, nice, interesting man who also worried about my claustrophobia as you had to go under. The view from the castle, fantastic. A pleasant experience.

The Origins of Naples: A Monumental Tour for Small Groups: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Naples.

How much does The Origins of Naples: A Monumental Tour for Small Groups cost?

    +

Prices start at $25 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Naples usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does The Origins of Naples: A Monumental Tour for Small Groups take?

    +

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Naples is not rushed.

Is The Origins of Naples: A Monumental Tour for Small Groups worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 14 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Naples, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule The Origins of Naples: A Monumental Tour for Small Groups?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is The Origins of Naples: A Monumental Tour for Small Groups suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book The Origins of Naples: A Monumental Tour for Small Groups?

    +

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Naples can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Naples and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does The Origins of Naples: A Monumental Tour for Small Groups start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Naples within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Naples?

    +

On Outty we rank every Naples experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full Day Private Amalfi Coast Tour from Sorrento/Naples/Salerno, Caserta Royal Palace & Gardens Small Group Tour with Shuttle, Naples Pizza and Tiramisu Cooking Class. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Naples?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Naples?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
