Zadar County
Plitvice Lakes is the oldest and largest national park in the Republic of Croatia. The park is situated in the mountainous region of Croatia, between the Mala Kapela mountain range in the west and northwest, and the Lička Plješivica mountain range to the southeast. Administratively, the park falls within two counties: Lika-Senj (90.7%) and Karlovac (9.3%). With its exceptional natural beauty, this area has always attracted nature lovers, and already on 8 April 1949, it was proclaimed Croatia’s first national park. The process of tufa formation, which results in the building of the tufa, or travertine, barriers and resulted in the creation of the lakes, is the outstanding universal value, for which the Plitvice Lakes were internationally recognised on 26 October 1979 with their inscription onto the UNESCO World Heritage List. In 1997, the boundaries of the national park were expanded, and today it covers an area just under 300 km2. The park is primarily covered in forest vegetation

Loved our driver but the car was too small for four.
Our driver was on time and delightful. However there were four of us and all indications were that our booking was with her father and his Mercedes which would have been much more comfortable than the small suv we rode in for two hours each way.

Great advice on how to navigate the park
William gave us very clear instructions on how to walk through the park. He also was thoughtful. He purposefully told us to start from Entrance 2 when all tours start from Entrance 1. We therefore avoided the crowds and by passed the long wait to have to walk slowly behind big tour groups. He also timed our walk around all the sights of the park precisely

Incredible scenery, like nothing we've ever seen before
Very smooth experience, due to his excellent communication prior, and detailed explanation to make sure we knew where to walk and suitably prepared. Also great that he checked how we were going on our hike and making sure we were going the right direction. Very polite and professional. We had an amazing time and the national park was stunning! He was very nice and ya.
