    Most Importantly, I got...

Most Importantly, I got to see a tiger. Along with jackals, wild boars, peacocks, and multiple species of dear and birds. I arrived at Ranthambore early and was allowed to relax in the sun with a beer in the hotel pool while i waited. I was also treated to a lovely lunch. My taxi driver, Shambhu, was also outstanding. He drove comfortably and safely and was happy to stop for a good breakfast of a morning, and chai of an evening.

    Not worth the long ride

All perfectly organized by Viator: the driver picked us on time at the hotel in Jaipur to bring us to a 3 stars hotel in Ranthambore, where we had lunch. Then at 3pm we started the safari and were brought back to our Jaipur hotel. I think however that the pickup is too early and we could avoid a way too long waiting between 12:00 and 15:00 by just starting the day 2 hours later. The 3.5 hours traveling already make the day long so if we could avoid wasting time in the hotel that would be nice. Unfortunately we did not have the chance to see a tiger, but what was even more disappointing is that there wasn't really anything else to see in this Safari. A few birds, squirrels, bunnies and deers... but honestly we can see that anywhere. And even the vegetation is dry and uninteresting. In summary I don't think the safari is worth the total of 7 hours drive + 3 hours wait in the hotel. Even if you end up seeing a tiger. Rather spend your time in the beautiful city of Jaipur!

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
