    About this experience

I will let travellers answer that one: "The morning session as well as the afternoon were full of inspiration and motivational help to make a step for yourself. " " I got to learn incredibly much about the human body, breathing and boundaries that we create in our minds. " "Direct, to the point, powerful and includes really valuable accountability follow up. " "Ice baths and the Win Hof breathing can be a little intimidating to try. It seems uncomfortable and challenging. Alex did a wonderful job or making everyone feel comfortable from the start and was present and open. He learned every single attendees' name and gave everyone personal attention when needed. " "I was most surprised by the amount of knowledge and learning that was shared by Alex. He was like a walking Wikipedia of breathwork and ice baths. Before taking the plunge we'd walked through the why and the how of the process. While I won't say it was easy I will definitely say it was worth it."

    A lifechanging experience

I did the 3 week in-person transformational breathwork and ice bath facilitator training in Ubud in April 2025 with Alex and it was exactly what I wanted, needed and more. Not only did we learn so much about the breath, the mind, bodywork, trauma sensitivity, integration, holistic health and more… every single participant left the training a different person. My energy shifted completely, from putting so much pressure on myself and focusing on outcomes, to understanding myself and my trauma and my limitations better and learning how to use them as my superpowers.

Transformative Journey: Pushing Boundaries with Alex’s Guidance

I recently had the opportunity to spend two transformative days with Alex, diving into breathwork and ice baths. From the very beginning, Alex created a safe and supportive environment that allowed me to step outside of my comfort zone—mentally, physically, and emotionally. His deep knowledge and expertise made the whole experience not only insightful but truly life-changing. Though it felt challenging at times, I quickly realized that this discomfort was where the real magic happens. Thanks to Alex’s guidance, I gained valuable insights that I’m already integrating into my daily life. I left feeling lighter, more connected, and inspired to create new habits. If you're ready for a profound experience that will shift your perspective and change your life, I highly recommend giving this a try. Trust me, you’re in great hands. Today is going to be amazing, and tomorrow will be even better! ✨

    Transformative. Permission to be yourself.

Where to begin in this review. If I could give 6 starts I would. Alex gave me myself back, he gave me life and more importantly he gave me empowerment. Alex immediately made me feel seen and heard. This whole experience was priceless. I attended the breathwork facilitator training and my original goal was just to heal my soul but what I got was so much more. For the first time in 20 years I feel alive again, I have a purpose which is just to be authentically me. We learnt so much about the body, the breath, trauma, emotions, the ice and so many life skills that I will implement now going forward in all relationships. Alex really has set the bar for who I let in my life. I cannot thank Alex enough for the transformation I have gone through, he will never truly know how much he has given me. The way he creates such a safe container is magical, it really is hard to put into words, the best thing to do, is to dive in and attend the training or a workshop. You won’t look back!

Held, Heard & Empowered - A journey with Alex!

Training with Alex in Bali for Breathwork and Ice Bath Facilitation was a deeply transformative experience. His kindness and deep presence created a space where I felt truly seen, heard, and cared for. His attention to detail wasn’t just in the techniques he taught but in how he ensured each of us felt supported every step of the way. What I didn’t expect was the most profound lesson he would give me—how to embrace and lead from my feminine energy. It was a surprising and beautiful gift, one that has deeply transformed the way I will move through the rest of my life. I am endlessly grateful for Alex’s guidance, wisdom, and the heart he brings to his work. He is all heart, that’s what makes him so special. If you ever have the chance to learn from him, know that it will be so much more than just a training—it will be an experience that stays with you forever.

The Lost Art of Being Human: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ubud.

How much does The Lost Art of Being Human cost?

    +

Prices start at $75 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ubud usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does The Lost Art of Being Human take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ubud is not rushed.

Is The Lost Art of Being Human worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 57 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ubud, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule The Lost Art of Being Human?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is The Lost Art of Being Human suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book The Lost Art of Being Human?

    +

Around 20 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ubud can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ubud and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does The Lost Art of Being Human start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ubud within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Ubud?

    +

On Outty we rank every Ubud experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mount Batur Jeep Adventure, Best of Ubud Full-Day Tour with Jungle Swing, Full-Day Tour to Water Temples and UNESCO Rice Terraces in Bali. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Ubud?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Ubud?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
