The heavy bronze door is a must-see!
I visited this church while walking around Ljubljana. It is a baroque church with twin towers and a central dome that stands on Pogačarjev Street in the old town. The exterior is not very impressive, but the cathedral's heavy doors are a must-see! The "Ljubljana Door" on the south side depicts six bishops standing on the covered body of Christ, depicting the history of the Ljubljana Diocese. The "Slovenia Door" on the west side depicts the history of Slovenia, depicting scenes such as the Crusades and Slovenia's independence in 1991, with the Pope peering through the window. I had heard that the lavishly decorated sanctuary was one of the highlights, but unfortunately I was not able to see it.
Response from the operator: The inside is even more amazing than the outside. Next time I invite you to join my tour to also see the inside. :)

Impressive Religious Landmark!
Visited this church as part of a group tour. Massive and beautiful landmark. The cathedral doors have images carved into it including an image of the Pope looking out of the window, people of a bygone era, soldiers, church clergy etc. The is also a hidden image of the sculptor at the bottom of the door with a shiny nose. Didn’t get a chance to go inside. Will visit properly on my next visit to Ljubljana! Not to be missed!
Response from the operator: Thank you for your lovely comment! The cathedral is even more impressive from the inside — especially with a local guide. I’d be happy to show you around next time you’re in Ljubljana!
