About this experience
Amsterdam’s best stand-up comedy. You can’t beat 5 stars on Trip Advisor and 4.9 stars on Google. We’re that funny - first dinner in the city, then Comedy Embassy at Boom Chicago. Every Friday and Saturday, we welcome hysterical foreign dignitaries from the international stand-up community. They deliver Ambassador-level comedy (or at least Consul General-level comedy) to enthusiastic crowds. For almost ten years, the Comedy Embassy has made the capital city laugh with the best euro-to-laughter exchange rate on the continent. No one has diplomatic immunity from these top comedians. The Comedy Embassy returns to Boom Chicago’s Upstairs Theater, the best room for comedy in Amsterdam. The two-hour show (including an intermission) brings you four top English-speaking comedians and a full bar. Bring your drinks to the show. No passport is required.

Pay a visit to an Embassy: The Comedy Embassy!
The Comedy Embassy Improve at Boom Chicago is always great fun. Have been there three times over the last year. Improve comedy is always a little hit and miss. That is its nature. The Comedy Embassy is way more hit than miss, although the number of laughs can vary from night to night. That’s the nature of improv comedy. The atmosphere is great and the venue is warm and welcoming. It’s definitely worth a visit.

Fun experience for a different night out.
Fun evening out with good sport comedians who had an unfortunate heckling audience. Great experience.
Response from the operator: Thank you! That was a tougher night than usual, but the actors were stars!

Not great- average comedians
Not great- 3 comedians, none of which were very funny. A couple had to be removed as they were so rude to the performers and another group left during the first comedian (not sure if they were asked to leave or not but there were a lot of smashed glasses and heckling). Thought it would be a lot better than it was unfortunately! The best part was the host who spoke in between each comedian- she was at least funny.
Response from the operator: Sorry the evening wasn't up to our usual standards. There was an unusual amount of disruption that night. While our comedians can navigate some heckling, dealing with a rowdy group is harder to manage and may have taken the performers off their game. In any case, we'd be happy to welcome you back to a standup show or an improv show and prove why Boom Chicago is a staple of comedy in Amsterdam & beyond.

Worth every penny👍🏼
Fantastic night! Despite a slight issue getting the Trip Adviser purchased tickets scanned in the venue, we had a cracking night. Great bar and very reasonable prices bearing in mind where we were. Upstairs 'Into The Attic' for the comedy experience. Really well laid out intimate setting and then a truly masterful display from our Comedy Compere!! A wide range of comedians throughout the show, nice crowd work without being harassing and a headline set worth of any world class comedy clubs! Thanks again to everyone involved 👍🏼💜
Response from the operator: Thank you very much! The Comedy Embassy is the best stand up comedy in Amsterdam. The New York Times even wrote a piece about it! Two actually: One about Boom Chicago and one about Stand Up comedy in Europe. Google them!

Wild fun at Boom Chicagos Comedy Embassy
Friday 14 Nov Wow, what a night! One wild, wild crowd. I have never been to such a wild comedy club. The bar is full of half naked wrestlers when we arrive (the downstairs room has pro wrestling going on apparently) loud, loud music and a shot fueled party is in full swing in the bar. The atmosphere is electric. We wonder what we have come into. The 10.15pm comedy embassy show is booked out. The bar runs out of beer by 10 pm and we are given g&ts at beer prices. (Got to love that policy.) The show starts and the audience is completely wild - The MC castigates and disciplines us all delightfully. She rocked but, I still fear for the comedians to come - we are a wild, wild crowd. But wow what a night. The first guy up is from Iraq and warms us up nicely. Then comes an hilarious bald comic Jacob who was an absolute blast. He has us and hanging on his every word and laughing like hyenas. Would love to see him again. Closing the show was a funny south African comedian. All in all 2 hours of great laughs and great atmosphere. Top class comedy
Response from the operator: That's just a Friday at Boom Chicago! Well, we don't have pro wrestling every week...

The Comedy Embassy Stand-Up Show Amsterdam: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Amsterdam.
How much does The Comedy Embassy Stand-Up Show Amsterdam cost?
+
Prices start at $25 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Amsterdam usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does The Comedy Embassy Stand-Up Show Amsterdam take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Amsterdam is not rushed.
Is The Comedy Embassy Stand-Up Show Amsterdam worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Amsterdam, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule The Comedy Embassy Stand-Up Show Amsterdam?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is The Comedy Embassy Stand-Up Show Amsterdam suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book The Comedy Embassy Stand-Up Show Amsterdam?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Amsterdam can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Amsterdam and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does The Comedy Embassy Stand-Up Show Amsterdam start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Amsterdam within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Amsterdam?
+
On Outty we rank every Amsterdam experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Amsterdam Canal Cruise with Local Guide and Small Group, Guided Bike Tour of Amsterdam's Highlights & Hidden Gems, Amsterdam: Luxury Canal Cruise including Cocktails & Snacks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Amsterdam?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Amsterdam?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
