Great experience!
We had a fantastic experience on the “Full Day – The Best of Terceira Island” tour with Azores on Route. The itinerary is incredibly convenient and covers most of the places and highlights that you really should see when visiting Terceira. It was a great way to get a comprehensive feel for the island in just one day. A special shout-out to our guide, Pedro, who was excellent. He was extremely knowledgeable about Terceira’s history, nature, culture, and all the important things we were seeing along the way. He shared lots of interesting information and really helped us understand and appreciate the island. The minivan was also super comfortable and very clean. We were incredibly lucky to have a very small group, which made the experience even better — we had plenty of time at each stop without feeling rushed. Overall, this was an excellent way to explore Terceira, especially if you want to see the island’s main highlights in a well-organized and comfortable day. Highly recommended!

Fantastic tour - perfect island impression
It's been an incredible day with Ruí and the other group members. We did everything that was in the description and even more short stops for pictures/enjoying the view. Ruí gave us enough time to explore the places, visit the volcano and get a quick bath in Biscoitos. Only the stop in Praia was a bit short for full city sightseeing and lunch, anyhow I think it is worth the time for other stops and more time at other places. But if one wants to see more of Praia, having lunch to go might make sense. Ruí knows a lot about the island(s) and was patiently answering all our questions about island live/society/history. He explained a lot about festivals, celebrations and the culture of the people and you can feel that he loves his island and the culture. We really enjoyed listening. The photo spots are beautiful, even though the weather wasn't the best. We can fully 1000% recommend this tour.

A beautiful day trip - don't miss out.
Learn about Terceira's vast history, visit breathtaking viewpoints, visit amazing caves that are deep underground. This is a complete tour that covers all parts of the island. Our guide, Roy/Hui was so knowledgeable and clearly loves his home. His stories were memorable. If you only have a short stay in Terceira, this tour is a must.

Best of Terceira Island Full Day Tour
We booked the Best of Terceira Island Full Day Tour with Azores On Route. Our guide was Antonio. My wife, myself, our 6 yo and 3 yo kids had the most awe-inspiring, eye-opening, thrilling adventure exploring the stunningly beautiful island of Terceira. Antonio did a top notch job all around by being a fantastic guide. We don't feel anyone else could have done a better job than he did. The whole tour was comfortable and relaxing. We were able to see and do much yet all of us did not feel overly tired at the end of the day. Trekking was light and only the Algar de Carvao was a little tricky but definitely worth the visit. Highly recommend doing this tour. There is so much history in Terceira and it is truly an awesome place.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much! 😊 We're really glad you and your family had such a great day with António. He’ll love hearing your feedback!

Why this scores 79
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
The Best of Terceira Island Full Day Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Terceira.
How much does The Best of Terceira Island Full Day Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $77 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Terceira usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does The Best of Terceira Island Full Day Tour take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Terceira is not rushed.
Is The Best of Terceira Island Full Day Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 19 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Terceira, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule The Best of Terceira Island Full Day Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is The Best of Terceira Island Full Day Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book The Best of Terceira Island Full Day Tour?
+
Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Terceira can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Terceira and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does The Best of Terceira Island Full Day Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Terceira within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Terceira?
+
On Outty we rank every Terceira experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Terceira Island: Full Day Tour, Underground Van Tour (Half Day) | Terceira Island, Watching whales and dolphins on Terceira Island. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Terceira?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Terceira?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
