    Memory of a lifetime

Very steep walk up to waterfalls for 2 miles. Do not recommend for people without high stamina. Those with breathing or knee troubles should not participate. However the guides and photographers were VERY helpful and patient. They encouraged rests whenever needed. They were funny and very kind. The waterfalls were Amazing. Once I reached the top it was worth every struggling step. Catch your breath when you hit the water but it felt like nothing else. The slides were fun if you didn't want to jump from the cliff. Therr were also stairs down to the pool on the last fall. The photographers took tons of great pictures for your memory and showing off to your friends. For reference. I am 55yrs old and weigh 112lbs and walk 4 miles per day. The driver who picked us up from the hotel was helpful and answered any questions about the area and Puerto Plata we had. Thanks to all!

    Really enjoyable

Driver can not go into port complex was tricky understanding where to meet him. Once we found him (Daniel, very nice driver) things went smoothly! As described. The waterfalls & slides were great experience. Beautiful tropical & fresh water. Lots of stairs.

    Still a Worthwhile Trip

The highlight was definitely our driver, Hairold, who was the best tour guide we’ve had this trip! Unfortunately, because of the weather (rain over the last few days), we were only able to see a small part of the waterfalls. Still it was fun to walk through the forest and hear the antics of the guides. We were able to jump off or slide down one of the falls and swim into one of the deep pools. The lunch was delicious. Things we wish we’d known that were maybe not so clear on this listing: you’ll be able to leave your things in the van with the driver. You don’t necessarily need to bring a change of clothes, but you might want to, in case you are still wet after lunch. Although it is a hike up, you still have to wear your water shoes, so it doesn’t matter what shoes you bring the morning of. Pack light as you go up the hill - it’s best to leave as much as you can in the van, because it’s going to get wet and it will be difficult - when you’re sliding or jumping - to have those things on you. There’s quite a bit of waiting and standing around time because there are various groups going up and down at the same time. You need to be fairly mobile and fit for this trip. It’s not a hard hike up, but the ground is quite unstable.

    Fun, adventurous day!

We had a fantastic day. Communication was excellent. Our driver, Ylanda was very professional and helpful. She kept us and our belongings safe while at the falls. She stayed with us the entire time and was very informative about the town. The actual tour guides at the falls were great as well. Funny, attentive and encouraging. They took personalized photos for us along the way. I would do this tour again. My only critique would be that it is advertised as a 27 falls tour when we actually only did 7. The other falls are not currently available which was a little mis-leading. .

The 27 Waterfalls of the Damajagua Puerto Plata DR: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Puerto Plata.

How much does The 27 Waterfalls of the Damajagua Puerto Plata DR cost?

    +

Prices start at $65 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Puerto Plata usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does The 27 Waterfalls of the Damajagua Puerto Plata DR take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Puerto Plata is not rushed.

Is The 27 Waterfalls of the Damajagua Puerto Plata DR worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Puerto Plata, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule The 27 Waterfalls of the Damajagua Puerto Plata DR?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is The 27 Waterfalls of the Damajagua Puerto Plata DR suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book The 27 Waterfalls of the Damajagua Puerto Plata DR?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Puerto Plata can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Puerto Plata and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does The 27 Waterfalls of the Damajagua Puerto Plata DR start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Puerto Plata within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Puerto Plata?

    +

On Outty we rank every Puerto Plata experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Monkeyland and Zipline Adventure from Puerto Plata, Monkeyland Puerto Plata, Puerto Plata Highlights City Tours from amber cove and Taino bay. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Puerto Plata?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Puerto Plata?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
