Great evening trying lots of authentic dishes.
Had a fabulous food experience with Eddie. We were very lucky and didn’t have to wait for the food at any of the stalls. Some can be busy but due to the rain beforehand, stalls were quiet. He was interested in what we wanted to try and spice levels. We tried everything. Great food and pleasant conversation. He took lots of great photos. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic food tour
Naphat our Guide was so friendly and welcoming we just knew from meeting her that we were going to have a great time. The food tour was amazing, time went so quickly as we moved amongst stalls in two different markets tasting dishes as we went experiencing authentic Thai cuisine from stalls we would not have gone to on our own. We were told about each dish we had with Naphat pointing out foods on the stalls and what it was, she was happy to answer all our questions. Not only did we talk about food but Naphat gave us a real insight into Thailand, its history and people as we went. The tour ended with a walk through the flower market to the river with stunning nightime views. Highly recommend Naphat as your guide and this food tour.

Naphat is a wonderful guide! She is very friendly, knowledgeable, and very passionate about sharing her culture. The food choices were also quite generalizable and tourist friendly imo while also being culturally significant. Highly recommend!

A must do if you want to try different Thai Food
Go very hungry, so much food and not just a taste but a meal, we shared a plate at most places. Let the guide know what you have already tried so they will take you to places to try food you have not experienced. It was so good not to have Pad Thai or Red Curry. Eddie was definitely stretched with us as we had already tried so many of the Northern Thai foods but he still found more we hadn’t, we made it to 8 dishes from different places then decided no more. He drove us to many places so we experienced true local food. Definitely worth doing.

The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
The 10 Tastings of Chiang Mai With Locals: Private Street Food Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Chiang Mai.
How much does The 10 Tastings of Chiang Mai With Locals: Private Street Food Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $35 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Chiang Mai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does The 10 Tastings of Chiang Mai With Locals: Private Street Food Tour take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Chiang Mai is not rushed.
Is The 10 Tastings of Chiang Mai With Locals: Private Street Food Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 89 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 222 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Chiang Mai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule The 10 Tastings of Chiang Mai With Locals: Private Street Food Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is The 10 Tastings of Chiang Mai With Locals: Private Street Food Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book The 10 Tastings of Chiang Mai With Locals: Private Street Food Tour?
+
Around 78 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Chiang Mai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Chiang Mai and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does The 10 Tastings of Chiang Mai With Locals: Private Street Food Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Chiang Mai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Chiang Mai?
+
On Outty we rank every Chiang Mai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half-Day Thai Cooking Class at Organic Farm in Chiang Mai, Full Day Thai Cooking at Farm (Chiang Mai), Thai and Akha Cooking Class in Chiang Mai. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Chiang Mai?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Chiang Mai?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
