An afternoon that was at once friendly, delicious, informative, and truly memorable!

We spent the afternoon with Nikos for a private tour. The tour began in the middle of the vineyards, with fascinating explanations about how to farm on the island and about the particularities of the Santorini terroir. We then visited the Gaia estate to discover the different stages of winemaking and taste several vintages. We then went to Domaine Sigalas, where we tasted other wines while enjoying an excellent meal. In total, about ten wines tasted during the day! The day ended at a final estate, with a magnificent sunset over the Caldera. Nikos is a very good teacher, we learned a lot about the history of the island, of Greece, and of Santorini wines. An afternoon that was at once friendly, delicious, instructive, and truly memorable. A big thank you for this very beautiful experience!

Nikos Made This Santorini Wine Tour Truly Exceptional

We had an absolutely wonderful experience on the Terroir Santorini Grand Wine Experience. This was so much more than a wine tasting - it was a thoughtful, beautifully guided introduction to Santorini’s history, landscape, vineyards, and native grape varieties. Nikos, our sommelier, was exceptional. He was knowledgeable, warm, engaging, and made the entire experience feel personal and easy to understand. His passion for Santorini wine came through at every stop, and he had a gift for explaining the connection between the volcanic soil, the unique kouloura vines, the island’s climate, and what we were tasting in the glass. The tour was perfectly paced, with a great mix of vineyard education, boutique winery visits, food pairings, and stunning views. Each winery felt carefully selected and added something different to the overall story. We especially appreciated that the experience never felt rushed or generic. It was relaxed, informative, and genuinely memorable. Whether you are already a wine lover or simply curious to learn more, this is a fantastic way to experience Santorini. By the end of the tour, we did not just enjoy the wines - we understood why they are so distinctive. Nikos made the day truly special, and we would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Santorini.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your amazing review. We do really feel honored and extremely satisfied that you enjoyed our Wine tour. We wish you all the best and wish to welcome you back again!

    Awesome! Nikos incredible.

Our guide Nikos was awesome! Very knowledgeable of the wines, vineyards and the process of winemaking. Incredible view from Santo Winery. Nikos went above and beyond, even taking us to the monastery at the peak of the island.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your awesome review!!! We wish you all the best and it is always our pleasure to welcome you back in our magical volcanic island.

Tremendous knowledgeable and personalized by Nikos - highly recommend

My wife and I spent the day with Nikos provided us with tremendous personal attention to detail. He took the extra time to show us around the island with excellent descriptions. We went to two wineries and Nikos really did a fantastic job of describing each wine and especially the uniqueness of the Santorini terroir and wine production methods. His knowledge of wines over the world is excellent so he was able to draw parallels to other producing regions of the world as well as to demonstrate the significant differences of how these wines are produced. We have toured many wineries over the last 15 years and this tour certainly ranks along with our best experiences. We highly recommend you consider one of the many tour options that they offer. If time allows I think the sunset tour with dinner at Santos Winery would be tremendous! Thank you Nikos !

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your review,! We wish you all the best and hope to welcome you back in our island and one of our experiences.!

Terroir Santorini-Sommelier’s Selection: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Santorini.

How much does Terroir Santorini-Sommelier’s Selection cost?

    +

Prices start at $225 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Santorini usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Terroir Santorini-Sommelier’s Selection take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Santorini is not rushed.

Is Terroir Santorini-Sommelier’s Selection worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Santorini, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Terroir Santorini-Sommelier’s Selection?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Terroir Santorini-Sommelier’s Selection suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Terroir Santorini-Sommelier’s Selection?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santorini can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santorini and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Terroir Santorini-Sommelier’s Selection start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Santorini within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Santorini?

    +

On Outty we rank every Santorini experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half Day Premium Catamaran Cruise in Santorini including Oia, Private Santorini Tailor Made - Choice of the Guest!, Private Classic Santorini Panorama: Visit Top Destinations. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Santorini?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Santorini?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
