Mala Pevnost (Small Fortress)
Terezin consisted of the Big Fortress and the Small Fortress. The Big Fortress was surrounded by ramparts and contained barracks. However, Terezin had not been used as a fortress since 1888; Terezin had become a garrison town that remained virtually the same, almost entirely separated from the rest of the countryside. The Small Fortress was used as a prison for dangerous criminals. Terezin changed dramatically when the Nazis renamed it Theresienstadt and sent the first Jewish transports there in November 1941. The Nazis sent approximately 1300 Jewish men on two transports to Theresienstadt. These workers made up the Aufbaukommando, later known in the camp as AK1 and AK2. These men were sent to transform the garrison town into a camp for Jews. The largest and most serious problem these workgroups faced was metamorphosing a town that in 1940 held approximately 7,000 residents into a concentration camp which needed to hold about 35,000 to 60,000 people.

interesting, heavy and dignified
We chose the tour to Terezin. Our driver Nicolai? was incredibly nice. He drove great and told us lots of interesting things about Prague and very respectfully and dignifiedly about Terezin.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your feedback; we are delighted that you were satisfied with your visit to Terezín.

The Best Guide
For those with a profound interest in historical events, especially those concerning the Second World War, a visit to Terezine is highly recommended. This site functioned as both a Gestapo prison and a concentration camp, meticulously preserving original flooring, furnishings, and a diverse collection of artifacts, including both authentic and reconstructed items. Engaging with this location offers a profound opportunity to reflect on the extent of human cruelty, barbarism, and criminality demonstrated during that historical period. Our guide, a historian with extensive expertise in the Second World War, provided an impeccable experience. My visit occurred on July 19th at 1:30 PM, and I regret having forgotten her name. Her knowledge allowed me to enhance my understanding and learn many other things I had not encountered in the numerous books I have read about the Second World War.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your thoughtful review. We are very happy to hear that you found the Terezín tour informative and meaningful. We truly appreciate your kind words about our guide and her knowledge. We will be happy to share your feedback with her. Thank you for choosing Get Prague Guide, and we hope to welcome you again in the future. Get Prague Guide Team

Excellent tour of Terizin.
Excellent tour, and well worth making the trip. The guides were knowledgeable, terrific and provided details as expected. The driver was excellent! We really appreciated the smaller size tour, and the van was comfortable. The time was sufficient. The team was responsive when I notified them about the meeting place and when I thought we would arrive late. Note, The Terizin site memorial grounds- there was uneven ground, rocks and stairs for those with mobility difficulties. Overall excellent tour.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind review! We’re very happy to hear you enjoyed the tour, the guides, and the comfort of the smaller group and transport. We also appreciate your note about Terezín — it’s an important detail for future visitors with mobility concerns. We’re glad everything worked out well, including the coordination before the tour. Hope to see you again in Prague!

Excellent! Top-notch guide
Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate. One of our family members spent time at Terazin (before being transported to an extermination camp) and the guide helped us piece together how she likely arrived at Terazin, and what her experience there was like. She really went above and beyond.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your thoughtful review. We're honored that our guide could help you better understand your family member's story and provide meaningful historical context. We'll be sure to pass along your kind words. Thank you for sharing this special experience with us. Dominik Get Prague Guide

Why this scores 70
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Terezin Tour Including Admission Ticket and Transfer & Audio: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Prague.
How much does Terezin Tour Including Admission Ticket and Transfer & Audio cost?
+
Prices start at $34 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Prague usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Terezin Tour Including Admission Ticket and Transfer & Audio take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Prague is not rushed.
Is Terezin Tour Including Admission Ticket and Transfer & Audio worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 72 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Prague, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Terezin Tour Including Admission Ticket and Transfer & Audio?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Terezin Tour Including Admission Ticket and Transfer & Audio suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Terezin Tour Including Admission Ticket and Transfer & Audio?
+
Around 25 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Prague can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Prague and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Terezin Tour Including Admission Ticket and Transfer & Audio start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Prague within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Prague?
+
On Outty we rank every Prague experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Best Reviews: Bohemian & Saxon Switzerland Day Trip From Prague, Bohemian & Saxon Switzerland From Prague-Travelers' Choice 2026, Prague Essential Tour Old Town and Jewish Quarter. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Prague?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Prague?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
