Very Disappointing Experience — Not Worth the Price

This was a very disappointing experience, especially considering the high price we paid. At the beginning, we were asked to send photographs of ourselves to confirm our identities. This felt inappropriate and raised serious safety concerns, particularly since we were three women traveling together. The transportation itself was fine, but honestly, it felt as though we had simply hired an Uber. The driver’s English was limited, he had very little knowledge about Teotihuacan, and, most importantly, he did not accompany us into the archaeological site to provide any explanation or guidance. The restaurant we were taken to was also very disappointing and did not offer the traditional Mexican experience we were expecting. Overall, this was nowhere near the quality or value we expected for the price. I would not recommend this tour and would request a refund given how far the experience fell short of what was advertised.

Noah was excellent!

We really enjoyed our tour of Teotihuacan. Our guide Noah was very professional and knowledgeable. The drive was so comfortable and relaxing, much easier than trying to figure out all of the logistics without a tour, especially with kids. Noah went above and beyond and I would recommend him and the tour for anyone wanting to visit the pyramids of Teotihuacan.

This was an amazing tour! We loved Miguel- he is a wealth of knowledge. So patient explaining everything from anthropology to history. We enjoyed hearing about the pre/colonial times.

Smooth and Fun

Ivan was great from start to finish. Pickup was smooth; he came straight to my Airbnb to get me, and on the drive out he kept up a steady stream of information about the area and pointed out landmarks along the way. Once we got to the site, it was clear he loves talking about it and knows the history cold. He tailored the tour to what I was actually interested in rather than running a fixed route, and he got me back in time for an afternoon reservation without rushing anything. One tip for future bookers: there’s a lot of walking, and quite a few steps if you want the full experience. Wear the right shoes.

Worth every peso — ask for Hector

Hector made this tour. My family and I spent a morning at Teotihuacán with him, and his knowledge of the site — culture, architecture, history, even archaeoastronomy — turned a walk among ruins into something far richer. On our own we would have looked at the pyramids and left. With Hector we saw the feathered serpent carvings, the puma mural, and sections where the original color still survives, each with the context that made it matter. If you're deciding whether the private tour is worth it: it is, and ask for Hector.
