A terrific tour of the Pyramids of Teotihuacan and Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe!
Frank did an outstanding job on our day-long tour to the Teotihuacan Pyramids and the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. He arrived before our start time and made a stop for us on our way to the pyramids. He did a great job explaining the history of the pyramids and took us to the pyramid museum to further our understanding. We also visited the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe to enjoy the beauty and history of the church. It was a great day for us thanks to Frank.

Great 2 days with Mariana
We are a family of 4 (kids 10 and 16), we stayed 10 days in CDMX and hired Mariana 2 of these days. On the first day, she drove us to the Casa Azul, then took us around Coyoacan, also to the Anahuacalli museum and Cuemanco. On the second day, she took us to Teothihuacan and the Basilica of Guadalupe. She is very knowledgeable. She is great if you want to know more about archeology, the Mexican culture and history. She is very passionate. We really enjoyed these 2 days with Mariana as she shared lots of insights and we felt that she was attuned to our needs. Also, her van is very comfortable! We highly recommend her!

Unforgettable tour
This tour was unforgettable. We loved walking around the majestic pyramids of Teotihuacan, and our guide shared so many fascinating details about the ancient civilization. The visit to the Basilica of Guadalupe was equally special, with its beautiful architecture and important religious significance.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words and taking the time to share your experience to other travelers, Teotihuacan and Basilica of Guadalupe are a must when you visit Mexico City, not just because of the beauty in it but ald¿so the importance of this sites to understand our very complex mexican identity. We are happy to hear you had an unforgettable experience!

Lovely day trip, Pepe was wonderful.
I booked directly with them over email and communication was ok. In the email they said 8am pickup but the night before they messaged me to confirm the tour, and said 7am. Honestly I was happy we went earlier and beat some of the crowds because it gets pretty crowded. Pepe was the driver and guide and he did a fantastic job! We made great conversation throughout the long day and he kept it interesting and fun. It was supposed to be me and my wife taking the tour but she got a little sick the night before and opted to stay at the hotel, so it was just me. I asked Pepe if we can do a shorter day so I could be back earlier in the day and help out my wife, and he was happy to oblige. We skipped the morning stops (like the cafe and the church) and went straight to the pyramids. we got there a few mins before they opened so we had to wait a little. we almost had the place to ourselves at first, which was really nice. that early in the morning you can see the hot air balloons as well! Pepe gave a lot of fascinating history lessons as we walked around. By the time we got to the main pyramid, it was already very crowded. There is a free bathroom you can use at the entrance. Afterwards, I called my wife to check in on her and she was feeling much better, so I opted to complete the original planned tour by visiting the basilica. Instead of doing the touristy food stop I asked Pepe if we could eat somewhere more local. It was a weekend and that's when taco places offer barbacoa, so i asked him to stop somewhere for that, and he did! We stopped at a very simple family run pop-up shack with a firepit going and kids helping out. I braved the barbacoa and consomme and thought it was some of the best I had in mexico. No regrets. I was worried I'd get poisoning from the cilantro or onion but I was fine. We then drove an hour or so to the basilica. Wow! The church area is fascinating with many surrounding churches and a lovely park with fountains. It was super crowded though, and this part felt a little rushed. There is a paid bathroom here you can use. I would have easily stayed here an hour longer walking slowly through each church. We ended up back at the hotel around 4:20pm. Pepe was also nice enough to recommend churro places near the hotel for me to try when i messaged him about it over whatsapp. Definitely bring sunscreen and a hat, I got pretty badly burned.
Response from the operator: Your comment is perfect for us, thank you for describe how is our experience, Pepe has the knowledge and his experience is amazing more than 20 years! He is a mentor for us! Thank you and Pepe is so happy to reed your message.

A day well spent....
We were very satisfied with our guide, Francesco. He picked us up early from our hotel, and drove to the pyramids. He offered to stop at various times for bathroom breaks and purchasing water. Although we knew absolutely no spanish, he was well versed in English. He was very knowledgable about the history of the ruins, the pyramids. We spent almost 4 hours out there. We all had lunch together which was nice. We then drove to the Basilica. He gave a good history of the church and showed us all the pathways to walk, how to see the frame of Mary's picture. He allowed us time to pray and self reflect in the Basilica. He then drove us directly back to our hotel. This is a great one- on-one excursion, that allows you to have the sole attention of the guide. It went along at our pace. I wouldn't have changed anything with this tour.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind message! Frank is an amazing guide and friend! We are excited to know you had a great time with him!

Why this scores 72
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Teotihuacan & Basilica of Guadalupe - Private Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mexico City.
How much does Teotihuacan & Basilica of Guadalupe - Private Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $100 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mexico City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Teotihuacan & Basilica of Guadalupe - Private Tour take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mexico City is not rushed.
Is Teotihuacan & Basilica of Guadalupe - Private Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 19 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Mexico City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Teotihuacan & Basilica of Guadalupe - Private Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Teotihuacan & Basilica of Guadalupe - Private Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Teotihuacan & Basilica of Guadalupe - Private Tour?
+
Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mexico City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mexico City and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Teotihuacan & Basilica of Guadalupe - Private Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mexico City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Mexico City?
+
On Outty we rank every Mexico City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Frida Kahlo VIP [Museum Tickets Included] Walk, Markets & Churros, Local Foodie Adventure CDMX: Tacos & more with Sherpa Food Tours, Mexico City Historical Centre Food Tour with 7 Tastings & Drinks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Mexico City?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Mexico City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
