Jorge was an incredible...
Jorge was an incredible guide. He is an archeologist who works on the site so his knowledge comes from real experience and study. He was generous with his time and flexible with our other plans. This tour is as good as it gets.

Jorge's Expertise Can't Be Duplicated
Jorge was an exceptional guide. We were the only guests on the tour, so the experience became a completely dedicated and personalized visit to Teotihuacán. His depth of knowledge of the site was unparalleled. He shared historical, archaeological, and cultural context in a way that gave us a much richer understanding of what we were seeing, including details and perspectives we would never have appreciated on our own. Jorge was kind, gracious, patient, and clearly genuinely pleased to share his knowledge. He welcomed our questions, never rushed us, and gave us the time to really take in the site. It was an incredibly memorable experience and one of the highlights of our trip. We would highly recommend Jorge to anyone looking for a thoughtful, knowledgeable, and deeply engaging tour of Teotihuacán.

Great time- exactly what I was looking for
I had a great time on this tour! I was really looking for something more in depth where I could really see the history and learn about the sites and the archeology behind them and this was perfect for that! He was so well informed, answered all my questions, and the whole experience was super fun

The most amazing experience
We had an absolutely incredible tour with Jorge, one of the few current archaeologists with direct experience excavating Teotihuacán. His depth of knowledge was astounding—no matter what question we asked about dating artifacts or the excavation methods, he had a thoughtful, detailed answer. He was funny, engaging, and really made the history come alive. We know how rare it is to have the actual archaeologist who dug the site as a guide—Jorge is truly a gem. This tour was an absolute highlight, and I would recommend it to everyone—don’t hesitate to book if you get the chance to!

Bait & Switch - watch out
We were very frustrated at what we felt to be a bait & switch. We paid a higher price for this tour specifically so that we could be guided by an archaeologist who had worked at the site. We communicated with Jorge prior to the date of the tour, and he helped us secure transportation and assured us he would be our guide. When we arrived on site, he met the car and introduced us to Daniel, who he said would be great, was a “historian”, and that Jorge was saving us from being lost in a big group. Well, we never saw Jorge on site guiding another group. Daniel was a fine guide, but certainly not an archaeologist, and we could have gotten the tour he gave for half the price we paid. We also discovered that the driver Jorge arranged for us was his father, and the drive back into town took 2x as long as it should have (we were checking Waze and suggesting alternatives that he didn't take). All in all we felt cheated and felt we spent double what we should have for an average tour.

Why this scores 67
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Teotihuacan Archaeology Tours: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mexico City.
How much does Teotihuacan Archaeology Tours cost?
+
Prices start at $135 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mexico City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Teotihuacan Archaeology Tours take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mexico City is not rushed.
Is Teotihuacan Archaeology Tours worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 102 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Mexico City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Teotihuacan Archaeology Tours?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Teotihuacan Archaeology Tours suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Teotihuacan Archaeology Tours?
+
Around 36 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mexico City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mexico City and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Teotihuacan Archaeology Tours start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mexico City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Mexico City?
+
On Outty we rank every Mexico City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Teotihuacan 3 Pyramids Tour + Hotel Pick Up + Lunch at La Gruta, Historic Center Essentials: Mexico City Downtown Walking Tour, PREMIUM Frida Kahlo Museum and Xochimilco (Small Groups). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Mexico City?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Mexico City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in Teotihuacan Archaeology Tours?
+
Included: Entrance fees; Walking tour; and Prof. Archeologist / Anthropologist / Historian expert in Teotihuacan. Not included: The listed price does not include a $3 parking fee, payable at the time of tour check-in. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
Where is the meeting point for Teotihuacan Archaeology Tours?
+
Please text to contact number for details. Hotel pickup is not included, so plan your own transport and arrive 15 minutes early.
What languages is Teotihuacan Archaeology Tours offered in?
+
It is offered in English and Spanish. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.
Will I get instant confirmation and a mobile ticket for Teotihuacan Archaeology Tours?
+
Confirmation is sent by the operator after booking, usually within 48 hours; if it is not confirmed you are not charged. Mobile tickets are accepted, so you can show the voucher on your phone.
What happens to Teotihuacan Archaeology Tours if the weather is bad?
+
This experience depends on good weather. If it is canceled because of poor weather, you are offered a different date or a full refund.
What do travelers say about Teotihuacan Archaeology Tours?
+
Across 102 reviews averaging 4.9 out of 5, recurring themes include the guide, knowledge and storytelling. Travelers single out the guide as the reason the experience works.
