Lake Vouliagmeni
Lake Vouliagmeni is a small brackish-water lake fed by underground currents seeping through the mass of Mount Hymettus. The lagoon formed about 2,000 years ago.[1] It was once a large cavern that collapsed following an earthquake. it is supplied with warm seawater (28-35ºCelsius) via an underground channel spreading through a network of flooded caves, so its temperature never drops below 18 °C (usually ranges around 21-24 °C

Excellent way to get some great info and beautiful pictures
Panos was excellent. Very knowledgeable and flexible with the itinerary and clearly proud of his country and the heritage and history.

Sunset at Temple of Poseidon drive
We ended up taking this tour because we had to cancel the one the night before. We were provided a driver and he did an excellent job taking us to the Temple of Poseidon. We ended up arriving right in time for sunset. The restaurant was so-so, I think it’s where they take everyone who takes this tour. We really didn’t want to go but has to stop because we would have been too early for sunset. The person who took us was a driver not a guide and it’s important to know the difference. If you want to see the Temple of Poseidon at sunset, this is a good tour. We didn’t get the history but the driver shared what he knew of the history and he did get us from Point A to B and then back.
Response from the operator: Hello and thank you for the review. In the booking its clear that a licensed guide to accompany inside the sites and museums is optional on request with an extra cost. For the dinner we never force people to eat of course. We give time for lunch if you like, or you can tell your driver that you like something else, like a walk or a drink. The duration of the tour is 5-6 hours because its included time for lunch. Or else it could be 3 hours. When we spoke on the phone we talked for everything and we explained to you what exactly is in this tour. I told you that the tour is private so its also flexible. All of our drivers are very well informed of Greek History and they explain to you everything before you enter. The cannot accompany you inside by the Greek Law, and this is why you have the option to hire a licensed guide on request with an extra cost . Best Regards Elegant Greek Tours Team

Expensive private car hire considering nothing else provided
The sunset over the Temple of Poseidon was as advertised, beautiful.. We enjoyed the drive to the Temple and the recommended choice for dinner was excellent, great quality and good value. Our reason for not rating this higher was the price. We paid for dinner and admission to the Temple. $500 for a private car to/from the site was very over-priced. I think fair value would have been about $300. In fairness, the driver was excellent, informative and this is outside his control.
Response from the operator: Hello.. Thank you for the review. Unfortunately you chose a restaurant with fresh fish. Fresh fish is always pricey all around the world. We gave you time for your dinner. We cannot know the budget of our clients. We always ask you what you like to eat. You wanted fish- seafood by the sea view. While you are booking the tour it's clearly written that dinner fee and entrance fee to the temple is not included in the cost. Please next time you book a tour read clearly what's included and what it's not, to avoid this misunderstanding and not reviews that are not representing the companies. Temple of Poseidon in Souniou
Our private tour to the Temple of Poseidon was magnificent inspite of the horrendous heat wave. All thanks to Elegant Greek Tours's driver Michael who made life pretty bearable narrating about the Poseidon Temple history in his air conditioned luxury car. Mike went out of his way and dropped us for 2 hours at the Astir Beach for some sun bathing and swimming and then resumed our tour of the Athens Riviera and describing every magnificent views along the way. Mike is pretty knowledgeable and has made our tour the most enjoyable experience. My spouse and I definitely recommend this tour by elegant Greek Tours
Response from the operator: 👋 hi. A big thank you from Michael and all the team for your nice review and the recommendation. We love to read that you had good time with us during the Sounio,Temple Of poseidon sunset tour and we hope to see you again to provide you more tours around Greece. Thank you. Why this scores 51
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Temple of Poseidon sunset @ Cape Sounio (And dinner time): questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.
How much does Temple of Poseidon sunset @ Cape Sounio (And dinner time) cost?
+
Prices start at $475 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Temple of Poseidon sunset @ Cape Sounio (And dinner time) take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.
Is Temple of Poseidon sunset @ Cape Sounio (And dinner time) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Temple of Poseidon sunset @ Cape Sounio (And dinner time)?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Temple of Poseidon sunset @ Cape Sounio (And dinner time) suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Temple of Poseidon sunset @ Cape Sounio (And dinner time)?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Temple of Poseidon sunset @ Cape Sounio (And dinner time) start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Athens?
+
On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Athens?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Athens?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
