Tour guide Katerina was...
Tour guide Katerina was great and bus driver was great. The destination was beautiful. I would only recommend since we’re at that location we could be given time to explore the little town under the site for an hour.
Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you for your kind review! We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your visit to Cape Sounion and that Katerina and your driver helped make the experience so enjoyable. We will be delighted to share your kind words with them. We also appreciate your suggestion regarding additional time to explore the nearby village. While our half-day itinerary is carefully planned to allow enough time to visit the Temple of Poseidon and return to Athens as scheduled, we value feedback like yours and will certainly share it with our product team for future consideration. Thank you for choosing Key Tours. We hope to welcome you again on another unforgettable experience in Greece. Kind regards, The Key Tours Team

Just know what you are buying
You are basically just buying a bus ticket with this purchase, the bus doesn't make multiple stops but it's a bus there a bus back a little of knowledge from the guide on the bus but won't go up to the temple with you it's an hour and half there and an hour and a half back, 1 hour there. Super amazing temple, you do have to buy a 20e ticket. So just for transparency that's what you are buying

Beautiful ride up to...
Beautiful ride up to Temple of Poseidon. Our guide Kat gave us interesting information on the ride up. The cost to go up to the temple was expensive for what it was but still interesting to see the temple and the views.

Bus tour was very good,...
Bus tour was very good, but disappointing that you're not allowed to walk through the temple of Poseidon after paying 20 euros per person.

Great site but long trip there and back
Kat was a great tour guide! Just be advised that you’re spending 3+ hours total in a bus (with amazing scenery) for 1 hr at a small site.

Why this scores 58
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Temple of Poseidon and Cape Sounion Half Day Afternoon Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.
How much does Temple of Poseidon and Cape Sounion Half Day Afternoon Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $21 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Temple of Poseidon and Cape Sounion Half Day Afternoon Tour take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.
Is Temple of Poseidon and Cape Sounion Half Day Afternoon Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.9/5 across 41 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Temple of Poseidon and Cape Sounion Half Day Afternoon Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Temple of Poseidon and Cape Sounion Half Day Afternoon Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Temple of Poseidon and Cape Sounion Half Day Afternoon Tour?
+
Around 14 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Temple of Poseidon and Cape Sounion Half Day Afternoon Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Athens?
+
On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Athens?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Athens?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
