If you need to fill half a day, take this tour
We had half a day to fill before catching our flight in the evening and this sounded like a fun tour, as we love tea in my family. We were picked up promptly at 9:00am from our hotel lobby and driven to the Temple of Heaven. We used a semi-private side entrance and skipped a lot of the crowds when entering. Lily, our tour guide, was knowledgeable about the history of the temple, it reconstruction, and it's UNESCO status. It was nice to have someone guide us through the vast structure, because this is a place you could spend all day at and not see everything. After the temple of heaven we went to a tea tasting where we got to sample 5 different teas and told a bit about traditional tea ceremony, how to brew tea, and even how to hold a cup when drinking the tea. But be warned, you'll want to buy all the tea you tired. All in all a great way to spend a half day in Beijing.

This was the best tour ever! Our guide Lucy was very nice and helpful. We learned a lot of fascinating information about the temple of heaven and we enjoyed the tea tasting in Maliando a lot. If you are a tea lover this is definitely a tour for you!
