A Gem
My sister and I took the Science &Art of Tea Blending class. It was a delightful class in a cozy setting inside the shop. We sampled several teas, I particularly enjoyed the apple spice one. The owner gave us a-lot of interesting herb facts and sheet with blending with herbs suggestions. The class lasted about 1 1/2 hours. The shop sells CBD oil & gummies . I sampled some of that, too. I had recently fallen and the CBD lotion helped make the bruising in my arm & wrist less painful. Ya’ll stop by,It’s a great shop in downtown Portsmouth, NH.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your lovely review. I enjoyed having you in class!

Check before going
We were scheduled to do the Tea Blending on Sunday. I placed a call on Sat to touch base and had to leave a message. I received no call back. We arrived on Sunday and the store was closed. We walked around for a few hours and checked again. The store was still closed. If you are planning on this event it would be best to ensure the owner is available and the store will be open.
Response from the operator: This review I have tried to have deleted but have not been able to. It is very disappointing that customers can leave review for classes that were not confirmed and they were notified of it not being confirmed. I notified the customer that we could not accommodate this class the day after it was booked it due to an immediate family member having a heart attack, so I could not accommodate. I let them know as soon as I could, so I am not sure how come the email from Tripadvisor didn't notify Krista of this not being able to be accommodated. The shop not being open at times is only a result of a staff shortage or emergency. This is class is something I offer to educate people and offer a nice experience, but it is not an entitlement that I provide it under extenuating circumstances and if I am not available. Contact the shop directly for classes - societeapothecary.com for bookings.

Why this scores 57
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Tea Blending: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Portsmouth.
How much does Tea Blending cost?
+
Prices start at $100 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Portsmouth usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Tea Blending take?
+
Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Portsmouth is not rushed.
Is Tea Blending worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Portsmouth, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Tea Blending?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Tea Blending suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Tea Blending?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Portsmouth can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Portsmouth and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Tea Blending start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Portsmouth within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Portsmouth?
+
Portsmouth, NH packs its best experiences into walkable neighborhoods, local food, and day trips nearby. Outty ranks every bookable tour and activity in Portsmouth by rating quality, review depth, booking demand and value, so you can see the standouts before you book. On Outty we rank every Portsmouth experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Islands & Harbor Tour- Sightseeing, Storytelling & Must See Sites, Historical Tastings at the Iconic Rockingham, Self Guided Haunted Walking Tour in Portsmouth APP/GPS/EMF Reader. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Portsmouth?
+
Spring and fall bring the best weather and lighter crowds in Portsmouth, while summer has the widest choice of tours and evening activities. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Portsmouth?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
