    7. Petit Socco

Tucked in the heart of Tangier’s old medina, Le Petit Socco—“the little square”—is a historic gathering spot that captures the city’s timeless charm. Surrounded by old cafés, traditional riads, and small shops, the square still holds that vibrant spirit. The scent of mint tea and coffee fills the air as locals and visitors sit beneath sunlit façades, watching daily life unfold. Iconic cafés like Tingis and Central once welcomed writers and poets such as Paul Bowles and members of the Beat Generation, who found inspiration here. From the square, narrow alleys lead deeper into the medina, where colorful doors, hidden courtyards, and artisan workshops reflect Tangier’s blend of cultures. Le Petit Socco remains the beating heart of the old city.

Wonderful Day in Tangier During Our Cruise Stop

We stopped in Tangier during our Celebrity cruise and had such a lovely day. Our guide was waiting for us at the port, and everything went smoothly. We enjoyed exploring the old medina, learning about the local culture, taking a short camel ride, and having lunch at a local restaurant. Our guide was so kind and made us feel welcome. It was a great way to discover Tangier in just a few hours.

    A great tour company

Othman is a young man who's building a tour business. He was excellent, and his tours here and in Casablanca were excellent. He took time for lunch with us in Tangier. Both the restaurant and the conversation were worth the trip.

Great private tour of Tangier from Cruise Port.

Our group of 6 had a wonderful experience on this private tour of Tangier. I would highly recommend Othman as you guide. He picked us from the port, made sure we had plenty of time to see all we wanted to see at our own pace. We also enjoyed a delicious 3 course Moroccan lunch. He got us back to the cruise terminal on the dot of the time we requested to return. Wonderful day!

Response from the operator: Dear Rebekah, Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m really happy to hear that you and your group enjoyed your day in Tangier and that everything went smoothly from pickup to your return to the cruise terminal. You were truly amazing guests — the kind of people you meet and remember with a smile. It was a real pleasure sharing the day with you. I’m also glad you enjoyed the Moroccan lunch and had time to experience the city at your own pace. You are always welcome back anytime for another experience in Morocco. Warm regards, Othman

How much does Tangier Private Shore Tour: Cap Spartel, Caves, Camel & Medina cost?

    +

Prices start at $143 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tangier usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

Is Tangier Private Shore Tour: Cap Spartel, Caves, Camel & Medina worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tangier, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tangier can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tangier and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tangier?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tangier?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
