I’d Give This 6 Stars If I Could!!!

This was honestly one of the best experiences we’ve had not only in the Tampa area...but anywhere...worldwide!!! Calling it a cooking class doesn’t quite capture what it is. It feels more like spending the evening with great hosts (who felt like preferred family by the end of the night) where you happen to learn a bit about cooking along the way. Eric and Nancy are fantastic. They made both me and my sister feel comfortable immediately, and the whole night is relaxed, funny, and interactive. The food was excellent, but their company and the atmosphere they created really made the evening special. We left full, happy, and already talking about coming back with other friends, partners, and anyone else who'd delight in an exceptional night out If you're anywhere near Tampa, I would absolutely recommend this. I’d give it six stars if that were an option.

DON'T MISS THE OPPORTUNITY TO ENJOY THIS EXPERIENCE

Meeting Eric and Nancy was one of the highlights of our time in Tampa. They were warm, welcoming and THE best hosts! They shared stories of their travels, Eric's love of cooking, Nancy's lot of art and their shared love of meeting new people! By the time we left, we felt like old friends! The food Eric prepared was spectacular! THE best garlic bread we've ever eaten, creamy risotto with butternut squash topped with delectable scallops. To end the night, he served the tastiest key lime pie! We both woke up the next morning wishing we had more! HIGHLY recommend this experience! You will not be disappointed and will have friends for life!! Thank you Eric and Nancy for making our time together so memorable!

Making a delish meal with an new friend

This experience is like visiting a friend who just so happens to be an excellent chef! Eric worked with me to design a menu that was customizable for dietary differences /spice tolerance and those with varying skills/interest in the kitchen. We did an Mexican inspired lunch and the food was so yummy, and so plentiful that we took doggie bags home. I got a chance to be hands-on helping cook, learning short-cuts and tricks for enhancing flavors & the other couple got a chance to relax. A win-win! Nancy took great care of us, making us feel (literally) at (their) home; she made a welcome sign/ happy birthday sign with our names and was so great about refilling glasses, serving, clearing plates, offering to-go boxes; all the while sharing stories of their travels around the world. All in all it was about 3 hours, which we enjoyed, but if you are in a rush (or super hungry when you arrive), let Eric know when you get there so he can adjust. Also know that you won't be working from recipes, so if you want to recreate the meal, ask & Eric will send afterwards. Be aware, they have (well-behaved) cats so don't book if you have allergies. It was such a fun afternoon, I would recommend!

Tampa Cooking Class in a Local Home - BBQ, Mexican or Brunch: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tampa.

How much does Tampa Cooking Class in a Local Home - BBQ, Mexican or Brunch cost?

    +

Prices start at $88 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tampa usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Tampa Cooking Class in a Local Home - BBQ, Mexican or Brunch take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tampa is not rushed.

Is Tampa Cooking Class in a Local Home - BBQ, Mexican or Brunch worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tampa, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Tampa Cooking Class in a Local Home - BBQ, Mexican or Brunch?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Tampa Cooking Class in a Local Home - BBQ, Mexican or Brunch suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Tampa Cooking Class in a Local Home - BBQ, Mexican or Brunch?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tampa can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tampa and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Tampa Cooking Class in a Local Home - BBQ, Mexican or Brunch start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tampa within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tampa?

    +

Tampa covers Busch Gardens, Ybor City food and cigar history walks, manatee snorkelling at Crystal River, dolphin cruises on the bay and Clearwater beach days. Manatee tours are seasonal and heavily regulated, so operator conduct matters. On Outty we rank every Tampa experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Guided Tampa Sightseeing Tour in a Deluxe Street Legal Golf Cart, Shared Ybor City Historic Walking Tour, Escape Game at Midtown Tampa. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tampa?

    +

November to April, with manatee season from November to March. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tampa?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
