My partner and I took the Table Mountain Summit walk via Kasteelspoort. Mark picked us up from our hotel and drove us to the base. We spent the next few hours hiking up the beautiful mountain side and stopping to take in the sights. Mark is a one in a million guide. He knows the mountain inside and out having previously worked in the national park as a ranger, as well as being a Nature Conservationist- so as you can imagine, he has a wealth of knowledge that is second to none. We had such an amazing time and learnt so much. Thank you Mark and hope you have a Happy Birthday today 🥳

A fabulous day’s walk in a stunning location.
This was a fantastic walk with Mark who is a walking encyclopedia about the plants and wildlife . The views are breathtaking. Thank you for a great day!

Spectacular hike!
My daughter and I had an amazing hike up table mountain with Justin. What a spectacular experience! Aside from being incredibly knowledgeable about the flora and fauna, he led us on the perfect routing for us of the mountain. I felt super safe the whole time and really enjoyed the conversation.

Amazing hike
Fantastic day hike with Justin. He was very knowledgeable about the National park and was always mindful of pace and asking us if we were ok. Views were fantastic. Book this hike you won’t regret it!!

Amazing table mountian tour
Review for mark Initially, we booked a tour as we were concerned about safety (crime) and wanted to make sure that we had someone knowledgable to take us up. However, I completely underestimated how much value mark would add to our walk. The day started out with a heavy mist/cloud which cloaked the mountian, but that in no way tempered our experience. Mark is an excellent guide. In terms of timing and pacing he was perfect. Mark stopped frequently, and helped us to manage our efforts, so getting to the top felt like a breeze. At every stop Mark would point out a flower, or bird or recount a story from his times working on the mountian (he was a ranger before becoming a guide). His passion for the mountian and its history was infectious, and we got so much more out of the walk than we bargained for. The fact the sun came out at the top was an added bonus - to be honest I still would have highly rated this experience of it had been cloudy all day.

Why this scores 67
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Table Mountain Summit Hike via Kasteelspoort: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cape Town.
How much does Table Mountain Summit Hike via Kasteelspoort cost?
+
Prices start at R 850 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cape Town usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Table Mountain Summit Hike via Kasteelspoort take?
+
Plan for about 5.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cape Town is not rushed.
Is Table Mountain Summit Hike via Kasteelspoort worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 14 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cape Town, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Table Mountain Summit Hike via Kasteelspoort?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Table Mountain Summit Hike via Kasteelspoort suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Table Mountain Summit Hike via Kasteelspoort?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cape Town can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cape Town and add a light layer if any part of the 5.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Table Mountain Summit Hike via Kasteelspoort start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cape Town within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cape Town?
+
On Outty we rank every Cape Town experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cape Town: Lion's Head Sunrise/Sunset Hike, Hike Table Mountain or Lions Head in Cape Town Like a Local, Cape Point and Boulder's Penguins Full Day Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cape Town?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cape Town?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in Table Mountain Summit Hike via Kasteelspoort?
+
