    Manta Rays

It was good but lots of people, both getting on ferries and in the water, particularly at Manta Bay, saw one Manta which was pretty cool but it had fishing line tangled round the end of its fin. Coral and fish were pretty. Crew were very friendly and lovely. Lunch was yummy. A long day for what it was. Two hour wait at the end for ferry back to the mainland but nice beach bar with food and cocktails and beautiful beach/water to swim plus swimming pool. Glad I did this activity.

Logistics taken care of for us, got to see a manta ray!

While this was a higher priced option, all of the logistics were taken care of for us. We were picked up from our hotel in Legian and taken through traffic to an office which handled the ferry. We checked in, waited for others, then walked as a group to the ferry terminal to the trip to Nusa Lembongan. Once there, we were then matched with our driver who took us to our specific speedboat for the snorkelling tour. We arrived at the Mangrove Beach Warung, where we filled out some forms, got fitted for our snorkelling gear, had some juice and selected what we wanted for lunch. We were then taken to the speedboat and had a great time. Although we were decent swimmers we were very glad that lifejackets were available as the waves were rough. After the tour we were dropped off at the warung where we could have lunch (mie goreng and nasi goreng for us along with a soft drink) and then we were taken on a boat tour of the mangroves, which was interesting to see. We then were able to rest on some lounge chairs or enjoy the beach across the street while we waited for our ride back to the harbour. This time our driver was waiting for us at the harbour building and drove us back to the hotel.

    Nusa Penida no thanks!

Visited Nusa Penida one day. We relied on a reliable local tour operator The programs are similar to each other. Once you arrive on Nusa Penida with a fast boat you take another boat (type speedboat) the number of people varies, we were 20, you go at full speed towards the stages (it must be quickly respected the schedule to see three places to see coral rays and turtles). What I would like to point out is that before getting on the second boat in Nusa Penida they fill out a questionnaire on their health (very summary) for a reason that no one specifies and that is that when you dive to see manta rays the currents are strong and although you are a good swimmer and wear fins it can be difficult to withstand the currents. We saw manta rays, but at the same time we had a bad experience. A man who was on a boat with us risked drowning from the strong current, was rescued at sea by the crew and then by a friend of ours in the boat because she was unconscious and had drunk a lot. We got back quickly and he was helped by a doctor and I don't know how things went. We decided to stop the boat experience We continued in the car and also on this case I detect that the narrow roads have many potholes Personally I preferred YOU and Nusa Penida do not recommend it. Besides it is very dirty. Obviously beti Trips and in life everyone h their own expectations and tastes!

Too much waiting not enough snorkeling

Only 2 hours snorkeling This experience was advertised as a full day trip. And while we were gone for the full day- only about 2.5 hours were actually spent on the snorkel boat and in the water. Now don’t get me wrong the sea life was amazing. But for what you pay- you would be much better off paying a private tour so you aren’t sitting around all day waiting. For reference this was our day: Pick up 0720 Ferry leaves 0900 Arrive at locker and snorkel fit spot 1030 Board boat for snorkeling 1130 In the water 1200 (X3 snorkeling spots about 20-30 mins each) Back at lockers for lunch at 1400 Mangrove tour 30 mins (unnecessary and boring) Then long travel home (truck, ferry, car) Overall it definitely was not worth the money and there was a lot of sitting around waiting with very little total snorkel time. Our time in the water with the manta rays would have only been 15 minutes before we were told we had to get back on the boat. Really dissatisfied overall and wish we could have spent more time in the water.

Swim with Manta Rays : Snorkeling Day Trip from Bali: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Nusa Dua.

How much does Swim with Manta Rays : Snorkeling Day Trip from Bali cost?

    +

Prices start at $70 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Nusa Dua usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Swim with Manta Rays : Snorkeling Day Trip from Bali take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Nusa Dua is not rushed.

Is Swim with Manta Rays : Snorkeling Day Trip from Bali worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.1/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Nusa Dua, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Swim with Manta Rays : Snorkeling Day Trip from Bali?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Swim with Manta Rays : Snorkeling Day Trip from Bali suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Swim with Manta Rays : Snorkeling Day Trip from Bali?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Nusa Dua can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Nusa Dua and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Swim with Manta Rays : Snorkeling Day Trip from Bali start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Nusa Dua within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Nusa Dua?

    +

On Outty we rank every Nusa Dua experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Bali Blue Lagoon Snorkeling - Lunch and Transport All Inclusive, Mount Batur Sunrise Trekking Tour - Bali Volcano Adventure, All inclusive Private 3 day tours package : Bali highlights. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Nusa Dua?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Nusa Dua?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
